Don’t work here AT ALL. The manager do not appreciate the work you do for them and if your person of colour they will definitely treat you differently.

Poor management. No hours available. Been told to contact sister company which does have hours but pays even less.Staff come and go the pay is embarrassingly low and the rules do not apply to everyone. There are clear favourites who get away with things others are punished for.Microggressions when asserting myself as a person of colour and things that aren't right. White counterparts always made out to be the victims instead of being held accountable.Gaslighting and being ignored by management when they are exposed for lying.

I have found Midland Mencap to be a wonderful care provider who invest in both their staff and the development of the very people that support vulnerable people.The same management structure remains in place and has been consistent for the duration of my engagement. Lots of useless leaflets, very confusing structure, most services carry a charge eg sitting service at £12.77 per hour where the service does not do personal care, toileting, bathing, nail cutting, manual handling, peg feeding - money paid for people to sit with you and do nothing for you.Too much money is spent on bureaucracy.

I Been with Midland Mencap for years now but for about 3-4 years now for me there nothing to do that I enjoy doing it Just feels Like they put me in a room and then Locked the door on me its not right I am Adult with Autism and Anxiety Just feels Like I Been let down and Sometimes I Cry Just thinking about it at one time Mencap was amazing with lots things to do for everyone but now whats out there now its Shocking for people Like me we Looked forward to it and seeing a friends as well and getting out having lots fun but now where it all gone

I was the registered manager for 5 months and loved the staff below me and I thought they worked very hard and many did long hours to provide the best possible care for the citizens. Great guys to work with. However, never met such unsupportive, punitive and invalidating higher management.

Brilliant company with an excellent ethos. Organised management and a very enthusiastic and positive team to work with, cant say enough about how friendly the entire team are - highly reccomend

I recently worked at this company but not for long. I was told It would at least be a 10/15 minute walk from the placement that I would be sorted too, instead It was an hour and a half away on the bus! I was highly disappointed by how disrespectful the manager was after I had explained my issue to them and asked for help. Aswell as I did the training even though it was not properly arranged, orchestrated horrendously and you don’t learn much from it after 4 days.From my experience I wouldn’t recommend, it felt as though the company lacks empathy for new comers.
