Matt has been my 14 yo son's drum teacher for a few years now. He not only taught him good techniques and helped him improve his chops, but also kept him motivated and kept his interest alive. He's the kind of teacher who not only gives him homework, but makes sure that the homework is personalized, interesting, challenging, but not overwhelming, stretches his limits, improves him a lot, and also is fun at the same time. Zoom lessons are an absolute win too, and not just in these difficult times, but they also help with geographic issues (physical distance doesn't matter).My son enjoys playing drums now more than ever, thanks to Matt and he is always looking forward to the lessons.

Matt has been teaching Oliver drums for over a year. My 9 year old son loves his weekly lessons and has made so much progress. Oliver says ‘Matt is the best teacher ever’. I have drummed for nearly 5 years now and for the 3 I have been with Matt, I have shot up 5 grades. This man genuinely works miracles. Thanks to him, I enjoy playing almost every day, and can to most songs people request. Would definitely say he is the best drumming teacher in the UK.10/10

Matt has been teaching my son for a few years now, he restored his passion for drumming. And helped him when he had lost his drum teacher. I am very grateful. He is always available in between lessons to help and communicates well. Matt takes a genuine interest in my sons interests and feelings. During lock down has done Skype lessons which has been fantastic!

My son has been taking lessons with Matt for approximately 4 years. Matt is interested in helping him develop and grow as a drummer and listens to his needs - types of music; pace of learning; sense of humour and solid advice. He is an excellent teacher and keeps his approach fresh. He even checks in with us periodically to get a feel for how we feel it’s going. We are indebted to Matt for our son’s passion and enthusiasm for drumming and now it’s not only his talent but it’s his outlet too. It’s great to have a teacher that performs regularly too - this has given him extra kudos and coolness with our son.

Our son's interest in drums started few years ago and he had extra lessons at school. However only after Matt was recommended and our son's tutoring started, his progress accelerated! In less then 2 years our son achieved Grade 2 in Drums and is now preparing to pass Grade 3. Our son loves his lessons - Matt's method is fun and engaging. Matt manages to achieve with our son a good balance between progress, practise, appealing pieces of music and motivating lessons. Even on Zoom! but we hope we can go back to Absolute Music for drumming those drums loud again! Our son cannot wait!
