Used to be free or little charge in summer to park, prices are more now and hard to find space in summer. No any other convinient place ro park nearby to avoid charges.Apart from that, nice, green and big space to walk around and enjoy the nature. Very ancient trees. Some nearly 300 years old.

You will actually find more bird life away from the hide which is not ideally situated, especially for photography. From my experience there is a wider variety of Birds as you head back up the footpath toward the Go ape area. And the Grey Herons are best found behind the old boating lake (now a cafeteria)Look for them in the reed bed and also in the trees on the right.An interesting walk is the West lodge walk which starts by the children's play area near the visitor centre. Look for the black metal style/gate.

Lovely location for a small picnic but has great views across the lake and can be accessed by all as the track to get there is a sturdy path
