Great place to eat. Staff really friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Ate here twice during our weekend away. Great value for money and food delicious and piping hot. Had an evening meal and Sunday Roast. Would definitely recommend visiting here.

This pub is consistently excellent. The food is great, the service spot on and the staff are super friendly. We visit usually twice a month for lunch and if it is always 100%.

Stayed in the cushion bank opposite the crown and cushion. Fantastic accommodation. Food in pub brilliant. Went for supper and breakfast good grub friendly staff. Definitely go again

Found our new favourite place to eat.Fabulous extensive menu. Food lovely, great portion sizes. And very competitive prices.Even a doggy menu!Havent been for years and years, since it was very much a drinkers pub.But boy have we been missing out for a long time. Till now.....!

We rented out the house a short walk away belonging to the Crown & Cushion Inn.We had a lovely comfortable stay in the wonderful house they were renting out.The staff were wonderful, friendly & very helpful at the Crown & Cushion Inn, food was good, most definitely worth a visit..Further to this, we were made to feel most welcome, I also accidentally left a nice pack of playing cards behind, they called me to let me know and posted to me sraight away, I was so pleased and grateful. A similar thing happened to me at another pub/guesthouse recently, they weren't so helpful, I'd accidentally left my wallet and spare car key fob behind. The anxiety they caused me because they were making it so difficult in returning it to me.

We overnighted here on our way to Scotland. Nice pub in a great location, we stayed overnight in a comfortable room with our dog.The inn was very welcoming to dogs, including having some doggy treats on the menu in the bar!The breakfast was great too. Although we didn't hang around, Appleby seems like a sweet little town.

Brilliant place to stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great, I can recommend the eggs benedict. The hotel is in the middle of Appleby, convenient for the castle, the church, the almshouses, restaurants and shopping. Appleby is good point for accessing Penrith and the Lakes.
