Mel Speak Garden Design

We contacted Mel to develop a vision for our garden in early 2021. She was local her prices were very competitive, and she was keen to provide the bespoke service we were after. After initial discussions and contracting Mel undertook a couple of site visits to measure up. This was followed by iterations of 3d rendered video and images with conversations to ensure things were 'just right'. The final result included a schedule of works, detailed plans and a full planting guide.I have to say we have been really happy with the end result. We now have everything we need to take our vision of a transformed garden forward over the next few years. For various reasons the process ended up being a little drawn out which required some patience. However, the end product was well worth it. Our biggest regret is that Mel has now moved from the area and will no longer be in a position to put her plans in to action.We would strongly recommend Mel as an excellent garden designer who can help shape your ideas and turn them into reality. From first measurements though to final planting and ongoing maintenance.

Have met a true garden angel in Mel. My rear garden had been sadly neglected for the past two years following a death of a close family member. It was tired and looking very lost with overgrown shrubs and plenty of weeds, then I found this garden angel who immediately fired hope into reinstating my garden. Within two days shrubs were moved around and other received a good trim, some new plants were introduced and even as winter approaches I have something to be proud of. Mel not only redesigned our beds and borders, but also sourced and planted them out too! Coming in on budget with lots of great friendly advice, we found Mel to be highly professional a great communicator, keeping us up to speed with the plant sourcing process, and her workmanship both in the design stage and the physical work stage was of an extremely high quality. Would highly recommend, and we won't hesitate to contact Mel again should we require any further advice or work doing in the garden.

Mel produced a wonderful design for our small front garden, including a plan for landscaping and a planting plan. She listened fully to and incorporated all our requirements - which included wanting easy to care for, shade tolerant plants and dog friendly plants and surfaces. She was able to advise on the best choices whilst always listening to and understanding our aims. We used a landscaper that Mel recommended and had some planters custom made by a recommended local business. Mel made the whole process incredibly easy by overseeing the landscaping, sourcing plants and planting these for us. She was very diligent about getting the right plants for the right spot. At every stage she kept us fully updated and all costs were reasonable. We are incredibly happy with the outcome which has transformed a previously underused and rather awkward shady site into a really lovely space.

We were delighted with the work that Mel did for us. Our garden was looking tired and lacking colour. Mel gave us a planting plan and carried out the work to implement it. Her help and guidance were just what we wanted and the garden is beginning to look beautiful again. We have no hesitation in recommending Mel.
