C&A Johnson

I couldn't recommend C&A Johnson highly enough. They were incredibly professional, from the initial consultation to the builders, plumber and plasterer. The work is of great quality. I trusted them completely.They deal with all the planning, drawing, structural calc aspects which is great when you have no time to do anything, which is definitely the case with us.The whole process was really straightforward. I didn't even mind the builders being here. They encouraged us to get up the scaffolding and have a look around. The majority of the work is conducted from the outside, we worked from home throughout. I think the work done in first week was the noisiest, but we were on holiday. I couldn't believe how quickly it was done.We are really happy with the new space we have and I wouldn't hesitate to get them out again if they did other building jobs.Thanks to all in the C&A Johnson team for making it the easiest building work we've ever done.

C&A Johnson were appointed for our loft conversion project after a very close tendering exercise in which they price matched the lowest quote we had received. We decided to go with them as we were impressed by their approach set out by Simon which inspired confidence that our needs and requests would be accommodated. We have not been disappointed as the standard of service throughout from design and specification through building work to finished details along with project management and administration have been of a very high level.The initial design drawings prepared by Simon and Charlotte allowed us to engage fully with what was planned and we were thus able to agree modifications to the design to take account of our requests. We felt well informed throughout the process with Charlotte providing prompt responses to e-mails and referring matters to Tyrone as necessary who always made time to visit and talk through any concerns. We were well advised in respect of additional items we chose so there were no hidden costs and even when the position of two roof windows was not originally as we had anticipated we were able to agree a plan to move these so that the final outcome worked for us.We were very impressed throughout with the on-site teams from the initial roofing team to the interior fit out team led by Martin and Dennis, and were very happy with the courteous and respectful approach to work that they all adopted. Martin and Dennis clearly take great pride in their work and we were delighted with the attention to detail in finishing off features, notably enlarging the landing area and building a wardrobe that Martin undertook to accommodate our wishes. The tiling work carried out by Paul was also excellent.All work was undertaken by in-house teams managed ably by Tyrone (particularly when challenges of illness etc might have caused problems) with only the electrical work sub-contracted. Russell the electrician ably worked out a wiring plan that minimised inconvenience and was happy to discuss any concerns, working efficiently as a key part of the overall team.The resulting loft has exceeded our expectations, making excellent use of the available space (including allowing sufficient eaves storage space to be really useful) and feels both light and spacious. Our daughter (whose room the bedroom will be) is delighted and the new shower room that leads off the landing rather than en-suite is a positive asset that all of the household are able to make use of and enjoy.Overall, we would have no hesitation in recommending C&A Johnson for any loft project where a personal service and attention to detail is important and we would certainly use them again in the future for other building projects.Update - 6 months on we are still very happy with our loft; a couple of minor issues have arisen but C&A have been very good in arranging for these to be resolved so a positive experience of after project care as well.

We recently looked into converting our loft and engaged with C&A Johnson in order to provide a quote for the work. I found them to be very professional and highly knowledgeable. From doing an initial inspection and taking some measurements they provided an estimate of works and were able to show me what the conversion would provide to us.Whilst ultimately we did not proceed with the loft conversion, I would have been confident that they would have been able to complete the job well and to a very high standard.

We had our loft converted beginning December 2021 and the whole process was as painless as it could be. All the staff were professional throughout, making us feel relaxed in our home despite all the changes being done. Simon thoroughly explained the whole process and we were kept informed throughout the build.There were very few issues that arose and they were dealt with promptly and efficiently. They definitely come highly recommended, we are so pleased with our new bedroom and bathroom!

We recently used the services of C&A Johnson’s to carry out our loft conversion. We had been recommended them by a number of people in our road who had conversion is carried out by them.Their attention to detail from the outset was excellent and we always knew where we were as the project went on.Whenever we had questions or needed to amend things nothing was to much trouble. Living with a young family while the works went on was our big concern, however C&A Johnson with all there experience managed everything exceptionally well and the team on site were excellent and they became part of our family while the work went on.The workmanship and attention to detail was excellent and we are very pleased with the new loft and en-suit that they have fitted for us.I only have great things to say about C&A Johnson. We had our loft converted some while back now by C& A Johnson and I had always said I would provide a review of the service C & A Johnson had provided, which was first class from start to finish.We chose C & A Johnson to carry our loft conversion project as they are a family business have an excellent reputation for the design service they offer and the quality of work they produce.Our loft conversion was completed on time and on budget and exceeded our expectations providing two bedrooms and a large family bathroom. The guys who worked on our project, Olly, Gary, Harry and Kevin, were polite and respectful in our home cleaning up at the end of each day and always arriving on time every morning. I have already passed your details on to a friend who is looking to have a loft conversion.A big thankyou to Simon, Tyrone and all the team at C & A Johnson for a job well done.I would have no hesitation in recommending C & A Johnson to anyone considering a loft conversion.

Just had our loft converted over the summer.The craftsmanship on the job has been excellent, they matched our existing victorian woodwork beautifully.All the workmen involved were respectful and easy to have in the house, and they kept the very small and tight site tidy throughout, minimising impact on us and our neighbours.The wait time to book the work was well worth it to get the job done by proper craftsmen.

We would highly recommend C&A Johnson for a loft conversion. We had our loft converted in 2015 and couldn’t be happier with our new space. C&A Johnson were very helpful through design and planning and we never felt rushed with decisions. The two teams involved in the different stages of the conversion were efficient, very tidy and professional. We were impressed by how they managed to keep mess to a minimum, even when it came to breaking through the loft floor for stair access. One element which stood out for us was how C&A approached finishing the loft bathroom. We decided to use wall boards rather than tiles. These boards were quite large and had to be cut to size before fitting. The team were very conscious of making sure the fit was right first time and went to the extra effort of cutting templates before cutting the boards. This was a stand out example of how all the team took great pride in the quality of their work and confirmed that we made the right decision to choose C&A Johnson for our loft conversion.

We are really happy with our loft conversion and the professionalism of the entire team. The quality of the workmanship was excellent and the team were up for challenges such as unusual tile patterns in bathroom, creating walk-in wardrobe and under-stair storage etc. A few communications mix-ups with the office regarding items purchased were the only negative point and were quickly ironed out.

We had our loft converted by C&A around a year ago.The initial design phase was handled by Simon and Charlotte, and once the build progressed Tyrone was our main point of contact during the build.C&A were excellent at keeping us informed about what to expect and about every phase of the project.They used specialist trades people such as electricians, plumbers, tilers and plasterers, and everything has been finished to a high standard throughout.We were particularly pleased with the ensuite which was beautifully finished and tiled.We only had one or two minor issues which were resolved without any fuss.I'd definitely be happy to recommend C&A Johnson.
