Hazelford Lock
We fell across this lock whilst on a walk around Radcliffe and Shelford. I never knew it was here or so large. The area around it is beautiful.

Loved this place, we met friends here, barbecued, with wine and had a great camp fire.

This is a nice area with a cafe and pubs nearby. The staff operating the lock are friendly enough but the lock operation is very slow at the moment (may 2022) due to a mechanical problem.

Absolutely love this place lovely relaxing walks along the trent I recommend starting from the other side and ending at the lock.....listening to the water crashing down is so relaxing have been coming here since I was 8 yrs old. Also the boats that are moored along the route are really nice to look at

Best moorings on R Trent. Good clean toilet facilities. Water, garbage disposal and recycling facilities. Nearest pub +/-2 km away but if you look for picturesque boat moorings, peace and quiet and friendly CRT staff, look no further. Don't rush past, a hidden gem on the Trent.

No chance of getting off the boat if you use a wheelchair, only a short space of low side mooring just before the lock, that is generally used as the lock approach. Not a great place to stop if on a Narrowboat. The area does look lovely but the lack of low mooring makes it difficult.
