Always a great and welcoming everyt8me we visit, the only thing that let it down this time was there was now card payments

He would not let us in and he said we had already been in once but we had not been in so he shouted at us and told us to get out he also said we are banned for the day and we can’t go in unless we pay money but we have not done anything he was shouting at us and he said only 16+ but people who are 11 years of age are in it because they are my friends but we are not allowed in there is 5 of us and he said we have to pay but the other people did not pay but the wall says free entry so we don’t have to pay but he was trying to make us pay he was really mean and he said the others are really behaved but we done nothing to earn this disrespect against us he was just saying GET OUT so we asked why and he said because we are disrespectful and misbehaved but we were just sat down and he told us to get out so we left and said can we come tommorow but he said you have to pay.we even have a picture to prove that it says free entry

A huge winding wheel is housed in this building. The wheel is kept in order by volunteers and each last Saturday of the month the public can see it working. A lovely little museum, cafe, gift shop and toilets. We visited to see a photographic exhibition about mining held by Maesycwmmer camera club on the 18th June 2023 which was really professional.

Lovely place - not advertised enough. Can't wait for the wheel to be fixed so we can see it working. Volunteer was very knowledgeable and very friendly.

Not open when advertised. Drove out of our way to get here and it was shut despite being advertised as open until 5pm.

my experience at this place was terrible they did not even let me and my friends in claming “ you’re been in here once today get out “ it is quite clear they do not want customers at this place. just shocking + he said we need money to go in when it says free entry, which is quite dull, and he said only 16+ when 10-11 year olds are in there, and then he said “ well they are well behaved “ when we are very well behaved. and he said you are aloud in only if you spend money, and on the wall in says free entry.

Fabulous chance to get up close and personal with a serious bit of mining kit. Small venue with history of the local area.
