Thornfield Camping Cabins

Run as a regimental business rather than a place to relax. You feel like you are almost a paying trespasser in their back yard rather than going there as a paying customer. Example. You have to tie your dog up who is also on holiday when they decide to let their chickens roam. The owner is a bit forward. He's a bit nosey when it comes to what you have on your patio and calls you by your first name because he's looked on the booking. I won't go back here at all. The email you get from them when you book makes it sound like if you step out of line he'll throw the blackboard rubber at you. Fitting at the owner is called karen. Add to the fact that the email you get after booking is just plain hostile. They have a lot to learn about how to write an email to customer. Oh and stay off the grass or else. You'll probably get a fine.

Amazing place to switch off and connect with the nature! The hot tub is a must for relaxation! Second time been there and can’t describe how amazing this place is! Also close to some villages and the Lake District to explore! Definitely recommend it!

We’ve just returned from a 3 night stay in the pheasant pod, plenary of space for 2 adults and a large pointer.The pod was spotlessly clean on arrival, it was the perfect break from all the madness in the world just now.It’s only a mile walk from the local pub and short drive to a cracking chippy in Dalston.A perfect location for exploring the north of the Lake District. We booked the hot tub for the 3 nights, it was a welcome way to relax after a day out in the Lake District.Andrew made us feel really welcomed and provided us with local information on walking.There’s a communal kitchen area with a larger fridge for storage, access to washing and drying machines for £2 per use. Highly recommend we can’t wait to visit again.

Had an amazing experience. The staff was very kind. Pods are well heated and comfy. It was my first time glamping and was worth it. We also paid for barbeque and hot tub. The weather was great. The sky was filled with stars, you could hear the owls hooting and you wake up by the chirping of birds. It was a good escape from work stress and city life. Moreover, it was very kind of them for the birthday card and sweeties.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thornfield Camping Cabins. It's a beautiful place, so quiet you can hear a pin drop. The pods are cozy and very clean with all the essentials. The outside area is also very well maintained and secure. We had a fire pit & bbq, sitting out in the evening.. it was brilliant and of course the hot tub it was amazing ..what a great way to relax! We would highly recommend Thornfield Glamping Cabins.

We had a fantastic stay over Valentines Day/week. Karen and Andrew made the pod beautiful with hearts, petals, chocolate roses, a pink heart balloon and a lovely bottle of Prosecco. The hot tub and fire pit were amazing. I’d definitely recommend!!

We’ve just finished a two night stay but wish we could’ve stayed for a full week!The pod was spotlessly clean, the couple who run the site are lovely, the views are lovely and it’s very reasonably priced.We’ll certainly be booking to go back!Thanks for a great little break.- The Holland’s
