J F Polo Academy

I had a really wonderful experience trying polo at JF polo academy today! The experience was a surprise present for my birthday since I love horses but I'm more from the dressage/eventing side of equestrian sports. The instructors we had James and Lennie are really excellent teachers. Incredibly encouraging, its really interesting to see how polo can be started from the absolute basics and JF polo academy are clearly very skilled at teaching beginners who in some cases have never ridden at all. So it just goes to show that polo really is an accessible sport, especially when you find somewhere so accommodating. Id really recommend this academy for that reason.We were there for the full day, prosecco on arrival was really nice! In the morning we went over the basics of how to steer and handle the mallet, after this we had a very nice lunch at local country pub and then in the afternoon we were able to practice some more before we had a game! I cannot praise this place enough, I can find no fault, the horses look so well looked after, these guys definitely know what they're doing.

JF has taught be since i started a few years back , I have gone from not being able to ride to playing regularly at club level and playing for my university.Can not recommend highly enoughThank you JF

During our tour of England our friend gifted my teenagers a polo lesson with JF Polo and what a blast they had! James was a great teacher but laid back and made the experience very relaxed and not stressful. There were lots of laughs and great memories were made.

I am by no means a natural on a horse. However, James and his team managed a minor miracle in just a few short sessions. A fantastic experience I would recommend to everyone and a totally unique buzz.

My sister and I have had our first polo lesson and the whole experience was fab from start to finish. The horses were amazing, the tuition was great and we had so much fun playing a mini match against the other beginners. We'll definitely be back for another lesson soon.

Claire and James are lovely friendly people who make you feel very welcome, regardless of whether it's your first polo lesson or if you are a seasoned attender. Normally you can choose from a 121 lesson or get stuck into a good old game of chukkas, there is always an opportunity to talk and interact with the professional players before/after a match. The facilities are if a high standard and the ponies are very well cared for. Easy access and parking on site. The post game BBQs in the summer are a perfect end to a great polo session.

Bought an experience day 2 years ago . Claire was very understanding regarding cancellations due to the pandemic. She arranged a slightly different day which my daughter thought was excellent involving lessons and practice matches. James made sure my daughter had a great time and really catered the day to her riding experience (slightly more than a beginner). James and Claire are very professional and I would certainly recommend this experience.

I've been so impressed with J F Polo, James and Claire have been so friendly from the start. The stables and polo field are just beautiful, as are the wonderfully responsive polo ponies who really seem to love their job!James is a great instructor, he'll tailor lessons to whatever your level of experience, allowing you to improve in your own time in a very relaxing environment. I've found the one to one lessons to be particularly useful for improving on my hitting technique. Beginners are welcomed even with no riding experience whatsoever. Would 100% recommend!

If you’re interested in horses, polo or just looking for something different to try you have to go to JF Polo academy.Riding experience isn’t essential, the horses are very well behaved but responsive if you do want to go faster. James was a fab instructor, showing us the basics and we even got to play a game at the end.I haven’t had so much fun in years and despite the rain at the start of the lesson I had the biggest grin on my face for the rest of the day…Go have a lesson, it’s great fun and the team give a warm a friendly welcome. When I’m back in the area I’ll definitely be going back.

James and Claire are lovely people who are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I had my first ever Polo Lesson with James which my wife bought me as a present, my wife also got involved in the lesson as well. I didn't have any experience riding horses but James really helped me and his instructions and guidance made the experience enjoyable. It was a really enjoyable experience on some amazing and incredibly well trained horses. I would definitely recommend J F Polo Academy and I am looking forward to another lesson in the future
