Great service and friendly owners, always use for my alterations.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend Forton Fabrics for alterations. My bridesmaid dress was ruined, by a wonky hem and the seamstress and owner proceeded to blame my daughters wonky hip, and then me (by suggesting the alteration would never have worked). The dress was taken up the same length all round, which then meant that it wasn't even! When my mum went in to complain (I was still charged), the owner was aggressive and rude. Absolutely incompetent. This nearly ruined my wedding and I had to go and purchase a new dress, which was different to all my other bridesmaids. Their vile response was to suggest that it wasn't an issue because the other dresses where fine and they'd spent time on it. Added to this, I had to take my daughters in 5 times to re-measure as they kept 'forgetting' what they were doing. Avoid.

I can't recommend forton fabrics enough these ladies helped me and my mum with alterations at short notice with our outfits for a wedding they eased my stress on the first visit as I thought I was never going to get my dress altered how I wanted it in time both me and mum are very happy with not only our outfits but with the friendly helpful service throughout, Pauline and Alma went above and beyond to help us we can't thank them enough! I left my dress with them with no stress because they listened to what I wanted and they advise you along the way 10/10 ladies see you soon you have our custom for life xx ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Forton Fabrics provides a wonderful service to the community. I like that if I am in the mood to sew I can just pop in and choose my fabric and sewing notions instead of waiting days for the delivery of an online order.I love shopping at Forton Fabrics not only because of the variety of fabrics available but because of the two attentive ladies that work there. Every time I visit the experience is enriching.Pauline and Alma are the archetype of professionalism and are always ready to share their wisdom and expertise which I always appreciate. The fabrics are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is welcoming. You won’t regret shopping here.

Huge thank you to these ladies for their skills and creativity in saving a bridesmaids dress. Of course children are ever growing, however an unexpected growth spurt meant we worried we would need a new dress so close to the big day! Hallelujah for these women, the dress still looked absolutely beautiful, and very cleverly done to cover any extra growth before the day. Alongside this they also adjusted my dress to fit to perfection, always with a smile on their faces and more than happy to listen and advise to ideas. Thank you ladies!!

Brilliant shop and amazing staff! They went above and beyond when making adjustments to a load of my clothes, and I was definitely not an easy customer! Every piece came out perfectly; I would 100% recommend them.

Unfortunately not impressed with the lack of aftercare here. Had a zip replaced in a pair of jeans, at a cost of £15.50. The zip was provided by Forton Fabrics and during the 2nd time worn it broke. Due to the time since repair being about 6 weeks, they refused to do anything other than offer another replacement, at a cost. Disappointing, as I was trying to support local business by using them and planned to buy fabric for a DIY project - their loss!

Really recommend, they got my bridesmaid dresses altered in such a short time. Really happy with their work
