25+ years of substance and alcohol addiction was my issue on arriving at acquiesce. The team made me feel welcome the minute I stepped through the door.I was reluctant to attend rehab. I’m now so glad I did. I now have a foundation that’s solid to continue living my life clean and sober. As I’mNow 3 months clean I continue to draw on the knowledge I have gained from the team at Acquiesce. I have utmost respect for the knowledge they have between them. If you’re thinking of going do it and just listen to what they tell you. They know what they are on about.

Acquiesce was born of the aspirations and vision of it's founder. It is a pillar in the treatment of addiction. It works. I know this now, but not so long ago I did not. When you are in the tunnel of addiction, the only light of interest to you, is the light relief of your next selfish 'fix'. I did not need help, why would I? I did not have a problem. I would like to say that I made the decision to go to Acquiesce, but it is not true, and nowadays I don't tell lies. I was eventually 'shocked' into accepting that I needed help, by my wife and daughters. It was a plea, and an ultimatum, and it came from a place of love. I recognise that now, at the time I did not. The research having been done, and preliminary contact having been made, someone was expecting my call. When presented with this choice, I did not want to make the call, I did not want go to rehab, and the only emotions I was capable of expressing were anger and resentment. I made the call, and by the time I had secured a place, I was more accepting of 'giving it a go'. When I left Acquiesce after 28 days, I had undergone significant change. I had been led to the start of the road to recovery, and I left with the resolve, the tools, and the resources to equip me for the journey ahead. I now awaken each day with the desire to record an incremental number. Today I am 76 days sober. It means everything, and it gets better and better. As a 70 year old male, I look forward to every day remaining. I have been given something precious and I intend to keep it. Each new day is an opportunity to work toward regaining the trust of my family. Addiction is a family disease. I have been on a 'right of passage'. The experience of the Acquiesce program, as well as cohabitation with other 'addicts', has been invaluable for me. For many it is a life saver. The program is delivered by people of strength, character and professionalism. Many are in recovery themselves. All command respect. I cannot thank Acquiesce enough for what I have received. All I can offer is my sobriety. If you are in the tunnel of addiction, the light at the end is Acquiesce. Move toward it any way you can.

Hi, My daughter has just returned home after completing 8 weeks at Acquiesce and we're noticed a massive change in her. She now believes that she has the tools, ability and support to determine her own future and manage her addictions.Throughout her time at there, the staff have kept us fully informed about her progress. She has come home with a clear plan as to how she will maintain her progress, and is involving us fully in it.Thanks for giving her a second chance.

I recently completed a 28 day programme with Acquiesce and if anyone is looking for residential rehab I would definitely recommend. The program is great and covers both 12 step along with SMART along with 1-2-1 sessions with a designated practitioner throughout your time there. You learn knowledge on how addiction works and affects the brain and body. All staff members go above and beyond to help with all aspects of your recovery and stay and most have been on the side of addiction so give their experiences to aid with your journey. The treatment continues once you leave and they assist with your transition back into life and are always on the end of the phone for help and advice or anything you may need with a genuine want to help you become the best version of yourself in active recovery.

When I came to Acquiesce I was very nervous and isolated from many years of addiction, I was unsure of myself and socially nervous around others. The family feeling of Acquiesce and support from the staff, gave me hope that I could change my behaviours and work toward a better future. The staff are experienced, supportive and most of all know what it is like to suffer from addiction. The safe environment and the group work really helped to rebuild my self-confidence.Acquiesce provided me with a strong base to build my recovery, the tools I gained through their programme I have continued to use through the last 17 months. My life now is completely different to the years of addiction, by working what I was taught I have moved forward into a new chapter of my life.Going to Acquiesce was the best thing I have done for myself and I could not recommend it more for anyone who is struggling with addiction. There will always be a part of my heart at Acquiesce and with the staff for giving me a new beginning.

Hi my name is Jan and I actually owe my life to Aquiesse. I attended the centre in April of this year and spent 4 weeks there. I was actually going to die as there was nothing I could do to solve my problem with alcohol I was drinking a litre plus every single day I was hopeless and desperate and had lost everything and everyone I loved. My daughter researched rehabilitation centres and found this one in Bolton I resented spending this amount of money on myself after all how much vodka could I have bought with this amount maybe many but I would also have been paying for my coffin. On arriving at the centre I was like a frightened child so very scared and lost. I was greeted by the most amazing people who I didn’t know at the time were going to be responsible for saving my life. I settled into the lovely house with my fellow addicts (some of them became my closest friends) we all worked together. I was after a short period determined to make this program work both for myself and my family. I listened closely to all the sessions and all the advice I was being given and I learned how to use the tools. The sessions were intense but so very rewarding and interesting and we’re delivered by beautiful people Tina Simon Aidy Carla Ellie and Aidy who were always there for me and so willing to help oh sorry I forgot Margaret Mary . The sessions are broken up with visits to the gym the park acupuncture and yoga and each morning we all did meditation which I loved as l had never done this before. I actually learned that my life wasn’t as hopeless as I thought.l learnt t reflect and speak within a group and join in with others and I am grateful I learnt how to live.when the time came to leave I had a big feeling of sadness appreciation and very nervous how things would be when I was back in the real world. When I got home I knew I had to carry on with the work I had done otherwise I still might not have survived. My family were happy I had agreed to go through with all this but they were very sceptical and worried about what was going to happen next. I started to attend the AS meeting in Bournemouth I had never been interested in anything like this in my life but I got to know the people got a sponsor from there and I am now attending every night I am doing lots of service there and I use the tools I was taught to use in Aquiesse and also speak with Tina my practitioner on a regular basis.I have returned to work and have an amazing life with my family. I cannot thank the staff at Aquiesse enough both for changing my life and saving it They helped me to do what I could never have done on my own. Thank you for reading ❤️

We couldn't have asked for better support for our loved one than she had at Acquiesce. The staff are caring, helpful and understanding of the issues affecting people with addictions and the support we as a family needed. We had weekly updates as a family and felt informed and involved throughout. The accommodation was really comfortable and spacious, and the groups enabled our loved one to feel safe through the most difficult time. Staff have also helped arrange the next step after rehab and are now providing aftercare advice and support during this transition period, which would be a massively anxious time without their help. We are so grateful to Acquiesce for all they have done for our loved one and ourselves. Thank you ❤️

Hi I’d just like to say how well I was looked after by Acquiesce staff, they are all very supportive. The rest of the people there with me in rehab were friendly and we all got on very well together. The staff took us out for recreational walks and a chance for a breath of fresh air in the parks. My experience at Acquiesce has been very positive with nothing to worry about because the staff “run a really tight ship”. I only have praise for them all and recommend Acquiesce for anyone having difficulties. They not only helped me with my addiction but other issues.John.
