Should be No stars, but Google will not let mePurchased 2 double beds from Hadleigh branch about 3 to 4 months ago.We had pre requested that they both were put up as I'm disabled and unable to do so. When the delivery drivers came the refused to do this, as they said that they were too busy and it was their end of day, in fact my wife got me out of bed to have a word with one of them as he had upset her. He did apologise after I had spoken to him but eventually the manager came and put up the beds. Unfortunately one of the headboards was missing and we then had to wait a month to receive.As I do not get out much and as hadleigh branch is close we went in before Christmas to buy another double bed. Only 1 person in shop, so we had to wait 40 minutes to be seen.Delivery came and I got out of bed to see them this time. My son asked me to put his 3 apple airpods ( that he was refurbishing)outside his bedroom door and my wife saw me place them there. My wife and daughter then shut themselves in her bedroom and due to COVID the driver asked that we kept out of the way, so my son and I stayed downstairs and left the men in my bedroom alone. They were here 10 minutes and as soon as they left my son went straight upstairs to collect his earphones and there was only 2 boxes outside his door. Within 5 minutes of them leaving I called the driver and giving them the benefit of doubt said  that it was possible that they had accidentally got caught up in packaging,  although they would have no business to be near my sons room. They called back and advised that they had got them. So as no one had been near them except the drivers in the 10 minutes that the earpods were on the floor I emailed the hadleigh branch.  Instead of looking at the facts they came back with a bunch of presumptions and said they wouldn't have taken them and I had lost them and they were gone due to my own stupidity !!!!! So something goes missing from a place only their delivery drivers have been in the 10 minutes they were at my house and they accused me.Finally at their suggestion I have raised this with the police and we shall wait and see and I also advised them that I would leave reviews accordingly. The response I received from them was that they would unleash the full force of their legal team if I put anything that damages their good name. I advised that all that I would be putting is the truth and FACTS,  which the above is. ALL in ALL not the best experience from a shop I have bought at least 9 beds in the last 20 years. What service I received as a loyal customer from them.Make your own minds up about using them.

The service in the shop was very good. We paid £30 to have our old bed removed and £19 for delivery. The delivery men were in our bungalow about 5 minutes. They left my 80 year old husband with the new bed still in its wrapping on its side. We have replaced a lot of furniture and fittings this last couple of years. Never had to pay for delivery. And always the men helpedset u p the new items. Not in this case. We have always tipped well but the never gave a penny. This time. It was not a cheap bed either.

Nice bed, just an issue on delivery, originally discussed in the showroom when purchased would it be installed on delivery due to recent issues with previous self install beds from Argos, said yes, apparently it wasn’t written down on the ticket therefore we didn’t pay for the instal service and we were completely unaware, we had to pay £10 on delivery for the installation of the bed at managers discretion, also came 2 hours later than originally quoted, overall think it was just a big mix up by the sales team being slightly careless but mistakes happen, but definitely a quality bed.

I ordered a bed for my Dad, but had to delay delivery by a couple of months and change location because he was hospitalised then moved address. Essex Beds were super flexible & even helped us to find bedroom furniture (something they don't sell) when he moved to assisted living. The bed is also fab. This service is the difference between an independent shop and a chain.

Excellent service and much more reasonable priced than the big names.

Travelled to purchase king size mattress. Closed at 9.42am on a Saturday when they are supposed to be open. Phone hangs up. I'll go somewhere else then.
