I love this little pub.I now stop off once a week for a cheeky pint and a chat on the way home from work.The new owners have spent a lot of time and money doing this pub up which is obvious from the minute you walk in. It has a real pub feel about it and the staff are all very friendly. It has a nice court yard area as well as a on.There is a reasonable variety of beers and the food is good too.Pop in and give it a go, it's worth the risk.

A nice place to grab a swift pint on a sunny afternoon. Interesting 'gardens' for patrons. They also do food, with kids menu, but I haven't taken advantage of that service.

Stopped off for lunch, had make it up sharer platter, we chose whitebait, chorizo, and lamb kebab, with ciabatta very nice and lovely setting. Could have a better selection of real ales. But worth a visit.

First visit since new owners reopened this pub last week. Very friendly staff. Food was good pub food. Menu not huge but most family favourites were there and this was only lunchtime on day 4 of the new regime. Will certainly be going back soon.

The meal was extremely overpriced and not worth the money. It's recently been taken over by new management and unfortunately it's taken a downturn. The food is now rather expensive, around £13 for fish and chips, there isn't a huge range of you're a vegetarian there is only one option and it's not great for people who have allergies. The wine was expensive and the waitress brought us the wrong wine at first. We didn't have to wait a long time for the food which was good but it was very average and disappointing for the price point. Also being sat by the door led to us being freezing for most of the evening. The pub itself is very cosy, nice decor and feeling, but the service wasn't good. I would suggest going there for a drink but eat at home. Be aware that surcharge is added on without you knowing on the bill.

We came here for my birthday this year based on the menu we saw online and the fact that we’d come here last year and always meant to make it back. I called earlier in the day to check regarding children’s menu and a gluten free menu and was told not to worry as all food is made fresh and there was usually as a minimum a burger and fish a chips that fulfilled this. I enquired whether I had to make a booking for this afternoon and was told to just come down. How I wish We didn’t bother and chose somewhereElse. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we arrived and for a fair duration after, and was told that even though they opened at 5 they wouldn’t take a food order until 6pm. Which is of course fine, so we had ample time to prepare our order and was ready to order as soon as they were ready to take it! We the proceeded to wait 55 minutes before even a peek of food turned up and only because we had asked how long it would be after 45 minutes and again after nearly an hour. When the food came it was luke warm at best, so cold for other diners that it got sent back for a quick dunk back in some oil. Fish was so bland and watery, and the peas came in their own little bowl of water which was nice, nearly as nice as the 4 hairs that we found across the meals, naturally half way through the meal but we darent send anything back with 4 starving children and a very strong Will to get the hell out of there. Please- save yourself the pain of this place and go somewhereElse.

We had to wait a little while for the food, but it was delicious when it arrived. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly.Lovely lunch thank you

Just had an amazing meal at The Black Horse. Really lovely food, nice atmosphere too, nice outside area. I had the steak and ale pie, and the steak was so tender it was really fab. Large portions couldn't eat it all. We all had a different meal and all said it was delicious. And the wine is reasonable price also.dDefinitely will come back again!

What a nice Pub/Restaurant staff are very friendly can't do enough for you , my Husband is Celiac, so nice to fine a pub thst cater for him the Chef Jamie has been great , it made my Husband day when he made him G/F Fish and Chips it was really nice highly recommended it

The food now is fantastic ,and the chef is a genius. This is a revitalised pub now with great food ,Dominic is a bearded embassador for the new pub and will pilot it to the next level as a destination restaurant pub.
