Watandar Restaurant offers a taste of Afghanistan that will transport you to Kabul! As someone who has worked in Afghanistan for years, their authentic cuisine brought back memories of the country and its people.From mantu to Lamb chops, Qabuli pilau to Karahi, we indulged in a variety of mouthwatering dishes. The flavors were truly remarkable.The service at Watandar was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made our experience truly memorable.I'll definitely be returning soon for another unforgettable dining experience at Watandar!

Working in the area and I fancied a Kabuli pulao, thought I’d give this restaurant a go based purely on their other reviews and I was not disappointed! Mouthwatering flavour, very generous portion sizes, great customer service and a nice environment to be in although I got a takeaway. Food is halal and I’m definitely coming back!

I recently had the pleasure of discovering Watandar, and I can't express how delighted I am to have found this hidden gem of an authentic Afghan restaurant. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for families. The customer service is truly exceptional - the staff are incredibly attentive, making sure every need is met.The culinary experience at Watandar is truly a treat. The highlight was the mixed platter, which was an absolute delight. The assortment of flavours and textures on the platter was a feast for the senses. To top it off, the accompanying chili green sauce was a revelation - its phenomenal taste added a perfect zing to the meal.If you're on the lookout for an authentic Afghan dining experience that combines incredible flavors with impeccable customer service, I wholeheartedly recommend Watandar.

Best Afghani food to eat with family. Really gives you the original taste and all flavours it carries. Their nan is fresh and very tasty. Would love to visit again and again to taste more dishes. Lovely experience.

Watandar Restaurant in Lewisham is an absolute gem! I had an outstanding experience here with delicious food and top-notch service. The servers were incredibly kind and hospitable, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Watandar truly does justice to Afghan cuisine, with perfectly marinated and cooked meat that was incredibly tender. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous. I can't wait to return with my family; it's a 5-star dining destination!

Lovely afghan restaurant. Everything is seasoned and cooked well. This is the place to go to to try proper authentic afghan food! You will not be disappointed.

Ghorme Sabzi (Persian herb and lamb stew) was perfect. Mixed grill kebab was good but could be marinated better. Qabeli Polo was also nice it was my first time to try it (not in the pictures unfortunately).

So delighted to have come across this hidden South London gem - a truly authentic family-run Afghan restaurant serving classics with no compromiseQabli Pulaow seasoned so well, the meat falling off the bone, served with a mild kidney bean curry. Borani Bademjan (extremely highly recommend) was the best I’ve ever had! Order naan on the side to mop up every bit.10/10Highly recommend
