Vision Express Opticians - Stockport

Very easy process. Vision Express contacted me as reminder that I needed an eye test. Booked online which was a quick an easy process. Arrived at the store, didn’t wait long to be seen and the appointment was carried out quickly and efficiently. Excellent service!

Everytime I’ve been here I’ve had a bad experience, to the point where I now feel compelled to give a bad review.Several times, I explained I wanted glasses and to set up a contact lens prescription. Shop staff explained if I did this, I would get a discount on glasses. I was told by staff I needed to speak to the optician and the optician said I needed to speak with the shop staff, several times. No one would communicate directly with each other meaning I ended up just buying glasses, at full price, with no contact lens prescription set up and no discount on future glasses.Today I went in and asked for my glasses to be amended as they were digging into my skin. The manager served me and I kindly asked if anyone can take a look at them if they have any time, as I appreciated it was very busy. He took them anyway and amended them. I tried them back on but they were still rubbing, so I explained this. He barked over me very aggressively, raised his voice and said no, they are straight. As I knew I wouldn’t get anywhere with him, I politely smiled and said thanks. Unsurprisingly, they aren’t fixed and still digging in my skin. Again, if he didn’t have the time, I wouldn’t have minded coming in on a quieter day. He appeared he was on the absolute brink of some kind breakdown and was speaking to others in the same manner. It’s always a busy shop and the staff are always rushed about. I appreciate this and sympathise it’s not a easy job. Maybe some need some extra downtime before resorting to speaking to others aggressively.Today was the limit for me and I’ll be returning back to Specsavers where I’ve never had even a minor issue.

Just come home from an eye test after not having my eyes tested for over 36 years.I was seen promptly and my optometrist was Haliima and she is so lovely. She actually made it a pleasure to have an eye test and she not only answered my questions she also taught me a lot about my eyes too.All of the staff I dealt with today were lovely - none of them tried any pressure selling or upselling - I was offered a scan for my eyes for only £10 and no pressure was put on me - I was simply told what the scan could pick up if it was an issue (glaucoma, diabetes, issues due to hypertension) and I decided it was £10 worth spending.My scan came back clear so I can relax knowing that the nerves in my eyes etc are fine and it's also more confirmation (along with my GP test) that my Hypertension is under control.I'd also gone in expecting to pay full price, but Haliima was lovely and actually told me that I was actually entitled to a voucher to help with my eye care, which has meant I can actually afford to buy a decent pair of glasses that I know suit me and that I actually like.Vision Express do actually have a couple of payment options available too even if you're not entitled to vouchers.The shop was pristine and I was allowed to take as long as I needed to choose my glasses and the process as a whole was very easy and I'm looking forward to going back next week to collect my glasses.

Staff were excellent great service. Not to happy with the performance of the lens reaction to sunlight. Reactalight lenses used to be faster to re adjust after coming out of the sun

My mum would like to leave a review as she has visited the store on several occasions to take care of both her and my dad's glasses, and each time, she says she is always warmly welcomed by zara, a delightful young lady. She takes the time to attentively understand her requirements and provides her sincere advice and assistance. Zara's expertise is impressive, and it's evident that she knows her stuff. Sometimes, when we've approached Specsavers to fix our glasses, their attitude has been a bit off-putting. Vision Express is very refreshing in comparison!

I have been to quite a number of different opticians over the years, but my first visit to VE in Stockport was the best. Halima and Hussain provided an excellent service explaining each aspect of the eye exam procedures and the pricing of glasses clearly. Would recommend.

Called in today looking for 'bug' sunglasses. Guy (40ish), came over asking if I req help. (Not @ all friendly,looked very quizzical @ me & fedup). I asked for the total price inc prescription & polarisation. When he gave me the quote, I mentioned it was a lot more than Specsavers, to which he replied, Vision Express glasses were better quality!!! NO they're not (as I told him). If that's the case, why was there only one other customer in the shop, but in Specsavers @ least ten? They also have great prices & offers, always very helpful, welcoming & friendly. I've been a customer of theirs for years, only called in here as they didn't have the size glasses I wanted. Also, please tell him, he should NEVER criticise another competitor.

My 6 years old son was handled very very poor by the Optician. Dr Behaved unacceptable, harsh, disrespect, very very speed languages, at certain point, my kid became scared and confused to pronounce the right letters from the board in front of him. Completely awkward service only by optician and I found other staffs seems fine.Will never turn up to this branch and now am suspecting Doctor's prescription as it was provided in a damn rush. I will not buy a specs for my son with this doctor's prescription until I have second opinion or book another eye test somewhere.

Well what a great experience we had here on Friday 23/6/23. I work with the elderly, people with dementia & parkinsons.My elderly clients is 89 , we saw a fabulous young lady called Haliima. From start to finish she was truly amazing. This young lady treated my client who was in a wheelchair with respect, she was caring, she was courteous, very clear in the way she spoke ( as my client also had hearing aids in) she was very thorough.Yes she went over , I'm sorry to the person who was waiting, but this young lady I can honestly say was wonderful, praise where praise is due. My elderly cluent went to shake her hand on leaving and got a little upset, but she got like this because if the way she was treated.With respect, as an individual, not just someone in a wheelchair. THANK YOU Haliima you are a wonderful lady and great at your job!!!Also Hussain who was exceptional to.
