Had a meal here on Wednesday,absolutely brilliant.Helen our server really looked after us during our visit and the food was excellent.We will be back for another pleasant experience.

We visited last Tuesday and was greeted by Simon behind the bar. He originally warned us off that they were so busy due to a Wedding party that they wouldn't be able to accommodate us for food. We chose to grab a drink anyway to decide were to go instead. As Simon delivered our drinks and told us that he'd negotiated with the chef and that they could squeeze us in! He recommended some dishes, I went for the Sirloin and the food arrived so quickly. Super happy with the service, everyone was attentive and friendly and Simon went beyond for us, thank you!

Absolutely wonderful place! Great atmosphere, amazing food and exceptional service! A huge thank you to Helen for being so lovely and attentive. I would have love to have included photos of the food but honestly when it came it looked so delicious we got so excited and ate it all! Already booked again for a birthday in a few weeks.

I was visiting the Dog House for a wake and travelling by bike from some distance. I called and asked if it might be possible to have a shower or change somewhere and Emma on reception very kindly organised me a room where I could change, dry my wet clothes and get ready, all free of charge! This is exceptional customer service and she and the team went above and beyond what I expected. The wake was also very well organised and the food and drink were delicious. 6 stars out of 5!

We often come for Sunday lunch as we live local. Came today I had roast pork and my husband had the beef was absolutely delicious and good size portions. Lovely atmosphere with low music in the background. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly, only had to wait 10 minutes before food arrived. Will definitely continue to come.Well done to you all

We've been pleased with our quick stay at the Dog House. We're Americans visiting and needed a one night stop over that accommodated children. We arrived early and enjoyed drinks in the pub while our rooms were being cleaned. Later we returned for a lovely dinner, a special menu featuring Sunday roasts and Yorkshire puddings. Service and food were excellent.We had three rooms for our group. We had requested a first floor room for one person in our party, but the toilet wasn't working and they had to be moved to the second floor to a larger room. The beds were comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised to find two, thick pillows. The rooms were well stocked with tea, coffee, and biscuits. The rooms were a little sparse-a comfortable sitting chair would have been a nice addition-and a little worn in places, but somewhat to be expected in such an old building.For breakfast the next morning we headed down to the hotel restaurant again. Andrew :-) was a great server that made us feel welcomed and took the time out to chat with us and my daughter. James the cook made an excellent breakfast, the English breakfast and bacon especially stood out. Overall, the Dog House was a great send off before the next leg of our journey.

We found the dog house a warm and welcoming place. The food great and so was the room. The staff were absolutely brilliant. In particular Simon who made are stay just lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and he had a great and lively personality. Just great will be coming again and thanks to all the other staff
