If you want stylish glasses,an eye examination using the very latest equipment and staff that go the extra mile then Ridings should be your first choice.Nicola and Eric are extremely knowledgeable as are all the staff in their given roles. Nothing is too much trouble for Val and she has given me great advice and assistance over many years. I can't recommend them enough.

I recommend this place after returning from a short break. Nicola and her team are very welcoming , helpful people in a friendly business. The Optician I had was thorough, efficient and practical. I didn’t feel like I was being sold something I didn’t need. There is a good range of spectacles to choose from and everything very well done.Businesses like this should be supported – they offer something different and that is something to be valued.

My daughter is short sighted and, after her latest eye test, was recommended to have special lenses to help maintain the quality of her eyesight. Every effort was made to get her the frames she wanted which were ordered in. She is now wearing the glasses happily and looks great. Hopefully the lenses will make a real difference too!

Nicola and her team are so helpful - I can drop in as well as having regular eye health checks. They look after my contact lenses and recently helped me choose some new specs - which are great and much complimented by friends. I really trust Ridings' expertise right on my doorstep

I actually use a different opticians for my eye tests however I was unable to find any glasses that fit as I have a small narrow face. I had tried my own opticians and spec savers and was starting to give up hope of finding any that I liked and that fit. I went in on the off chance Ridings might have something as I was starting to give up. I went in very close to closing time yet received excellent service despite it being so close to the end of the day. A lovely lady asked if I needed help and I explained I was after smaller glasses and was struggling to find anything that fit. The lady then got out an empty tray and went round and hand picked all the frames she thought might fit. She then asked me to try one or two on and asked my opinion. She then used this to narrow down the tray of glasses to about 5 pairs. This really helped as I haven’t worn glasses full time before and had been feeling very overwhelmed. I narrowed it down to two pairs that fit well and the other staff in the shop helped me to make a decision on which suited my face best. The rest of the transaction (payment and measurements for the glasses) was also met with excellent customer service. Great service from the whole team and I’m very pleased with my glasses.

We have been with Ridings Opticians since they took over from the previous owner, we had always been happy with the service we had, so didn’t feel the need to look elsewhere. I have had excellent service even having both cataracts done during lockdown! It is great to support local businesses, whilst we get personal attention without pressure, I have had new lenses fitted into my old frames without any problems, they have all the latest equipment, and are very friendly and cannot do enough to make the appointment comfortable for us.Very happy clients.Mary and Derek

After using a well-known chain of opticians for a number of years, I decided to try a local, independent optician. Customer service was superb, both during the eye examination and whilst choosing frames. The monthly plan gives excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Great opticians. Due to a condition, our son has eye tests at the hospital but we use Ridings for his glasses , sports goggles and prescription sunglasses. They have a plethora of great frames with lots of shapes, sizes and colours and our son enjoys choosing exactly what he wants as it's such a fun & friendly process.I also use Ridings and I find the Eye Care Plan really good value.Can't fault them!
