My self, Christine my Dads partner and all the family can not thank Sylvia and all the team at H Bates Funeral directors for the care and compassion taken in arranging my late father's funeral. Everything from the first phone call to the laying of my father's ashes in the tower in the cemetery was first class. Again many thanks to Sylvia and the team.

We have used other funeral directors where the contact has changed, this led to confusion and so we returned to Bates' to deal with the funeral of a close friend. Sylvia and her staff work to traditional values but have the knowledge and contacts to make a stressful time that little bit more easier, something that we will always be grateful for.

As a family we cannot thank Sylvia and her team enough for their care whilst compassionately and sensitively dealing with the funeral of our beloved dad. Sylvia went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly, even helping my mum with paperwork and providing much needed advice at a time when you feel completely lost and overwhelmed. Cannot recommend H Bates enough, thank you Sylvia it was a huge comfort to have you there for all of us.

We have used the services of H Bates for family members over the years so I was happy to approach Sylvia and her team when my husband passed away in September .An additional difficulty for me was the fact that Alan died abroad and there were extra problems re repatriation.Sylvia and her staff were there for me in every way ,handling the cremation and various documentations required in a very discrete and understanding manner .My husband’s eventual “celebration “ of life was a really special event which was handled really well by Sylvia and the Celebrant Jeff and I cannot thank them enough for the care and attention which reduced a lot of the stress and worry for me .I whole heartedly recommend Sylvia and the company H Bates .Thank you Joan Breban

Absolutely amazing caring and compassionate people ! I never thought in a million years I would be writing a review for a funeral directors but I need the world to know if they ever need a funeral directors to care for a loved one that has sadly passed away they must choose H Bates . My beautiful mum sadly passed away on the 31st October 2022 Iv never planned a funeral before I was totally lost and heartbroken I didn’t know where to begin ! From making my first initial call Sylvia was there ! She went to get my beautiful mum from the hospital straight away which gave me great comfort at a really difficult time I do believe Sylvia went above and beyond her duty . She’s a loving respectful lady who looked after my mum with dignity and true care . Sylvia and the team showed great kindness and compassion to my whole family . The way you looked after my mum I will be forever grateful thank you so much xThis is the second time Iv used H hates in a year I sadly lost my beautiful mum in October 2022 and then my precious brother in September 2023 There are no words great enough to thank this amazing lady .. From start to finish Sylvia and the team were compassionate & caring. The help with everything (accompanying my mum to register my Gran’s death, advising HMRC to stop her pension etc) is such a personal service. Thank you again for everything you have done for us. We truly appreciate it
