Santa train was a lovely experience, friendly staff, something different to do without the crowds of people some places can have. We've done many many different Santa experiences but my 15 year old declared the gift they received to be the best one they've ever had from visiting Santa and the 4 year old has not put hers down all afternoon.

What a lovely little heritage railway. Think it’s only about 3 mile in length but worth a visit if you are near. We went on one of the hottest days of the year so unfortunately they were only running a heritage Diesel engine to avoid the possibility of line side fires. Safety first. But this didn’t detract from this beautiful little railway. Very scenic. £9 per person so reasonably priced. Free parking. Staff were lovely and chatty. Clearly enjoying their work. If only in all heritage railways the staff were so nice. Great cafe, outside seating but we sat indoors in a converted rail coach. Very nice. All in a great few hours spent on a great little heritage railway.

Came here for the santa train with our 2 year old and friends and we loved it! All the staff were so friendly and the attention to detail was great. I thought it was good value for money and the present our son received is so lovely. Thank you so much to the staff for a wonderful experience

Lovely restored steam railway open at weekends with a cafe open all week. The track is three miles long which takes about 45 minutes and next to it is a well used walking and cycle path that goes from Bristol to Bath. Freindly volunteers look after the station well with lots of artifacts, although the look is spoilt by some tatty carriages awaiting restoration. Saw some people having Sunday lunch on the train but we just had a quick bite in the cafe.

The experience was spoilt by the persistent rain lashing down, so the views from the train were sadly obscured by steamed up windows. The station, staff and booking were well organised though, and the small gift shop was nice. Best of all was the Festive Afternoon Tea; the sarnies and cakes were lovely, as was the scones - I'd prefer fruit ones though rather than plain. Hot drinks were good, especially the mulled wine.

It is a great place for everyone, not just train enthusiasts. Cafe and shop, and just wonderful to see the steam trains!

We were really disappointed with the Santa steam train. As it said in the description, we would be on a train ride for 50 minutes.Around 40 minutes of that time we were on the train it was at a stop so roughly we only had around 10 minutes of a train ride which was 5 minutes forward and 5 minutes back!My 4 year old daughter plus other children on the carriage started to get fed up and restless as we were waiting to move! The only nice thing about this experience was that my daughter got to meet Santa at the end of the “train ride”!!!! Definitely won’t be booking this again next year and will not be recommending.

A birthday treat this time, and what a pleasure! Displays of old Fry's & Cadbury packaging, the old Somerdale engine, a lovely train ride both ways. Recommended for a day out if you like heritage railways.

What a wonderful place to visit. Our son is steam train mad and he absolutely loved it. The staff/ volunteers are so helpful and friendly. We visited here whilst on holiday and would definitely recommend a visit. We pre booked our tickets but wasn't that busy to say it was the August summer holidays.
