Matt George has just finished up our survey and as a result, I felt compelled to write a review for his fantastic services.As new home owners, we've been a bit lost and concerned about damp in a property we bought, we've had lots of contradicting advice and expensive quotes to fix it and decided to appoint Matt at Damp Detectives for an independent survey before we took the plunge.It was vital to us that the survey was independent and nothing was being sold to us and that the surveyor had knowledge of Victorian properties and how they work. Not everyone out there is knowledgable and qualified on these types of buildings and will do work on your property that isn't suitable for its type or age.The advice, guidance and insight on our property received is in my opinion well worth the money spent on the survey and way more insightful even than the full home buyer's survey we had completed prior to purchasing.Matt spent about 4 hours at our property thoroughly guiding us through what was the cause of our damp and how, with relatively cheap and simple remedial work and a bit of DIY we could fix the problem. He did so in a manner that made us both feel comfortable and did not make us feel silly for asking novice questions.
