Nuffield Health The Vale Hospital

On behalf of my Mother I wish to convey my sincere thanks for the care she received recently at The Vale hospital. Special thanks to Mr David Pemberton, a truly gifted surgeon . Thank you also to the dedicated staff for assisting her during her stay .

My father was admitted in 2012 and suffered a catastrophic event in his hospital room. He was transferred, by the Vale, to The Royal Glamorgan Hospital where he died as a result of the catastrophic event a few days later. The surgeon and doctor concerned no longer work at The Vale. I cannot speak for all the other staff concerned, including an additional private one to one nurse engaged for my father. It is only now that I feel I am able to leave this honest but short review as the event, and it’s subsequent effects, almost destroyed my family and myself.

Despite the need to change location for my spinal procedure from the Bay to the Vale, the experience was exceptional. From the receptionist, the nurses, the X-ray staff, and the consultant, they were fantastic. As soon as I got there and realised that I was in pain, they got me a chair to make me as comfortable as possible until I was ready to go into theatre. They explained everything that was needed and even offered to contact my wife once I was out.They managed to put my mind at ease throughout. I can't fault a single person I dealt with. Thank you.

Thank you to all the team at The Vale for the incredible service you provided, my consultant Alan Woodward was brilliantly knowledgeable and understanding, anaesthetists were fantastic with me and the aftercare I received from the nurses was amazing, they were exceptionally well trained and knowledgeable and with me within minutes every time I called. Last but not least the catering team also a fantastic job, food was delicious and the menu was better a lot of restaurants I’ve been in, I could have stayed a while longer! The facility was clean, modern and very comfortable. I’m already feeling better and look forward to saying goodbye to months of miserable pain. Thanks again everyone!

I’ve recently been discharged after having lumbar spinal surgery. From start to finish, the service was exceptional, all staff including the nurses, porters, anaesthetists, physiotherapists, catering staff and of course the surgeon immediately make you feel at ease with their level of care & support. I look forward to continuing my recovery with all the staff here at Nuffield and I could not recommend them enough!Thank you!!

Excellent service from the moment I walked into reception. Every member of staff I met from the cleaners to My Surgeon, MR ALAN WOODWARD were both kind and caring. So much so, that every anxiety I had quickly disappeared. I was shown into a bright sunny room, which had everything I needed.My experience in the theatre. I will describe as superb, thanks to the lovely bedside manner of Mr. Woodward. He immediately put me at ease. Throughout the procedure (done under local anaesthetic), Mr Woodward chatted to me every step of the way, informing me what he was doing. He kept asking if I was alright, which I thought was rather nice. Neither can I fault the theatre team, they too were very attentive, putting their patient first.Once the procedure was over, I was taken back to my room, served a delicious meal and fresh coffee. Two hours later I was on my way home. I would not hesitate to recommend Nuffield for its 5 star treatment - patient care at its very best. Thank you!

From 1st phone call the staff were very helpfull and professional ,thank you dr woodward and team ,my experience was great from start to finish ,while having my gallbladder removed. Im post op at 6 weeks so hopefully on to happier and better times .

The care and service that I received as a day case patient was outstanding from the porter, healthcare, nurses, consultant, anaesthetists, and every member of staff that I came across was fantastic so a big thank you, to you all!

I had a shoulder operation under Mr Angus Robertson and from start to finish it was outstanding care. Nothing but praise for Mr Robertson his secretary Karen, Nuffied Cardiff Bay, The Vale Hospital and Adrian my physiotherapist. This was my first operation going private and it blew my mind. My own room with en suite , a 3 course meal and the staff were just amazing so kind and caring. I would highly recommend Nuffield and The Vale Hospital
