Lapwing Shepherd Hut - Incline View Holidays

We've been to cottages, boutique hotels, and spa hotels, but none of them compare to this. It was perfect!3 night mid-week break in July. It is easy to get to, as Google has it as a destination. Well maintained, but narrow road access, so watch out for other road users. Lapwing is the second of the four shepherd's huts, but they are all well spaced apart from each other with beach hedges and trees between to give privacy.Large welcome hamper with various teas, fresh and instant coffee, biscuits, crisps, local apple juice, and proseco, with a bottle of milk in the fridge. Really comfy mattress and feather duvet. Robes, towels and slippers provided, with extra towels for the hot tub. Information folder with lots of useful details including local amenities, contacts, attractions, plus confirmation of necessary equipment checks and risk assessment.Hot tub working well and is checked each day. Gas barbecue with tools. Table and chairs on decking plus a picnic table on the grass next to it.Mix of heavy rain and sunny spells whilst we were there, but that all added to the atmosphere. Got to see a couple of barn owls, too, who are regular visitors to the adjacent fields. Didn't attempt the climb of Ingleby Incline, but there are maps I the welcome pack for doing a 6 mile circular walk up it and a shorter 3 mile one round the lower levels of the horseshoe valley.Fantastic value for money and we will definitely be back to Lapwing or one of the other huts (Barn Owl is the same as Lapwing, but even more secluded as it is at the far ens of the access track. Hare is a mirror image. Wren is a slightly different design).

Just had 4 nights in Lapwing, absolutely brilliant, so relaxing, fantastic location, Mark and Louise brilliant hosts, couldn't do enough for us, we will be going again 100%.Thank you

We had a wonderful relaxing 2 night break at the lapwing shepherd hut. Everything about the stay was fabulous.This was our first stay in a shepherd hut but will definitely do this again.The hut has everything you need for your stay and the welcome hamper was a lovely surprise. The hut is kitted out with high end finishes making the stay extra special.The hot tub is an added bonus enjoying the wonderful views of the area. We also enjoyed a bbq as the weather was outstanding as well .The hut is well situated for local attractions and we enjoyed a day at Rievaulx abbey.The hosts Mark and Louise are available If there are any problems and the information pack was so helpful.Would highly recommend
