Very impressive building. Coffee shop, gift shop. Free to walk around inside just made a donation. You can also book to go up the towers for a small fee, maybe next time I visit I'd like to give that a go

We enjoyed a quiet couple of hours looking at all the architecture of the cathedral. The history is fascinating. We particularly enjoyed the cloisters. We parked on palace green which has ample room for disabled parking. There is a congestion charge but it doesn’t apply on Sunday.

What a beautiful place to visit. So much to see in the Cathedral. Amazing architecture, carved wood everywhere I looked. Please if you visit don't forget to look up. The bats had been distributed by the storm a few days earlier and they were flying around the cloisters I couldn't believe how many people hadn't noticed them. There are on this video.

A lovely Cathedral to visit, amazing art work and artifacts. A £5 donation gesture. But, be mindful that it's extra to go into the Tower and art gallery which will set you back £7.50 for each entrance. Overall a lovely few hours spent and the cafe was nice, too. My wife enjoyed the walnut and coffee cake. Would recommend it if in the area.

Happened to be in Durham on remembrance Sunday. After the service went to look around the cathedral. It is free to go in, but they do ask for a donation. Which is only fair as the upkeep of this enormous building must be ridiculous. Well worth a donation, a beautiful building. Make sure you visit the cafe. The scones are the best I have ever tasted. There is a photo, it doesn't do it justice. It is so big, jam on top and bottom.

Great to visit. Museum well worth the £7.50 p/p. Lots of interesting things to see. Look for the stone mason marks on the limestone bricks.

How nice to visit a cathedral without a high entrance cost. This was true of Durham & we made the suggested donation each & bought a guide book -In comparison with other cathedrals this is quite small - probably explains why it was completed within 40 years.Beautiful architecture all around the building & my favourite was the stain glass windows.I enjoyed a piping hot bowl of soup in the cafe & which was very accessible.I shall enjoy reading the guide book & reflect on our great visit 5*

Excellent afternoon, quite awe inspiring. Great cafe with home baked goods. Small but well stocked bookshop and gift shop. There are two Waterstones in the town centre, so no shortage of on topic literature. Be prepared for a modest up hill walk, but nothing too challenging.
