Walpole Tidal Pool
Gorgeous evening dip, not too busy despite being a hot day. Some rocks underfoot in the water but nothing particularly sharp

Nice place. I nearly drowned though (jelly fish sting or muscle cramps not sure) glad there was someone who helped me get back to the safe side.

Even out of season, when it's too cold to bathe here, this is a gem as the calm water so often provides the most wonderful reflections. The setting is delightful and there is lots of parking within a few yards.

A great place for swimming safely. The pool is submerged at high tide but becomes uncovered when the tide is at 3 metres. Just be careful of the top of the wall as it can be very slippy.

The UK’s largest tidal pool and the most magnificent spot for a dip.

It looks like a safe place to swim in seawater without risking being swept out to sea, but it is submerged at high tide.

What a historical wounderful idea this tidal pool, build in 1937 (Grade ll listed), is, swimming without interference from the tide. This pool is one of the oldest an biggest tidal pools in the UK, the water quality is also good, no wonder that you see so many swimmers throughout the whole year (for example the Walpole Bay Tidal Pool Swimmers). It is also a pleasant place for a family picnic with kids, and also for fishing activities (craps and shrimps).
