1 star is generous, client service was awful. They continually missed project deadlines without any communication until being chased which ultimately led to a 1-year delay on our project. After multiple warnings we had to part ways with Wallace Bacon Consultants. Heather had agreed to share the working files so that we could smoothly transition to a new architect but you guessed it, the files never materialised. So now we are paying again for services done.Save yourself the time and effort, scroll past their listing as I wish I would have done.=================Edit:As I cannot reply to the company below, some further details for other customers. After planning permission was obtained here is how our communication looked:01-Dec-2021 - we commissioned Wallace Bacon Consultants (WBC) to complete the structural design. This was acknowledged on 02-Dec-2021 and we were told we would have this within 2-weeks.21-Dec-2021 - we followed up - radio silence from WBC03-Jan-2022 - we were informed of a delay only when we enquired about an additional opportunity.10-Jan-2022 - we were promised by Heather at WBC that by the end of the week (either 14 or 16-Jan) that we would have the completed work.01-Feb-2022 - after several unanswered phone calls we were forced to make the decision to drop WBC.02-Feb-2022 - amazing that only after being dropped did we get a response, requesting that we extend the deadline until 09-Feb-2022, we declined. We were promised that there were no hard feelings and the DWG file would be shared.05-Jul-2022 - We followed up to request the DWG file. WBC advised they would send and usually send directly to an architect/engineer. We requested they share the file directly with us, radio silence. Several email requests sent, several phone calls and no response.22-Jul-2022 - We requested this again urgently and this time shared the new architect's details. Message sent via WhatsApp to Heather at WBC so that we could see if it was read. Indeed it was read but ignored.Only today, 05-Sep-2022, after having read this review did WBC finally try to call me back, but there is nothing left to say.If I had read their previous Google reviews across both offices then I could have saved £1500. Without the DWG file we had to pay again for the same services but that was not the major headache. For us, by having to get a new architect and start again we lost 3-months and so had to delay the project 1-year. Given the rising cost of building materials we regret ever engaging with WBC.

Contacted Wallace Bacon Consultants out of the blue to undertake a structural review / report upon my house in Reading to address a request raised by the mortgage company. From initial contact, continuing with early correspondence regarding the scope of works / specific requirements, through to site visit and the ultimate issuing / release of the final structural report I have found them very professional with excellent communication throughout the process. Site visits / meetings and the delivery of the final structural report was all achieved within the stated / agreed timescales and for a very reasonable fee considering the significance of the works involved. Based on my experience I would have absolute no hesitation commissioning Wallace Bacon Consultants again should the need arise, nor would I have any reluctance in recommending the practice to anyone requiring the services of a structural engineer. Thank you guys for the excellent stress free service. Very much appreciated.

Highly recommended for any/all structural and architectural work. Extremely professional and always helpful every step of the way. What sets Wallace Bacon apart is the level of hand on experience and real practical knowledge. Clive is a walking, talking encyclopedia of structural engineering and building work. They know exactly what they are doing and technically brilliant in their line of work. Not forgetting, absolutely great people to work with.
