Very cosy cinema with big comfortable swing chairs and wide rows. Wine bar and cafe on site with fresh home made food adds a special vibe.

Good cinema. Good films. Expensive. Tries to lure you down a membership route.Also sells the most annoyingly, irritatingly scrunchy sweet packets. Barely ten people in this afternoon and an old boy brought a three course meal in with the noisiest wrappers I've heard in a long time. Ruined the tension of the first half hour.

Its great that you can take drinks from the bar with you in, and they usually have some more unusual films too. If you join them (as a movie club) you get cheaper tickets, drinks and snacks. Go more that twice in a year and you have your membershp fee back... so to speak.

I joined Oicturehouse a few weeks ago, anticipating the opening of a new screen in Ealing, but I found myself in Devon in the weeks when that one finally opened. All I can say is that I hope the Ealing staff are even half as nice as at the Exeter Picturehouse.From the front of house box office to the cafe and bar upstairs, everyone was friendly. This is how I want my film-going experience. Nice people, nice cafe attached for a lunchtime Saturday snack....No oversized buckets of popcorn and slurpy drinks!

Lovely staff. Nice café. Great ambience throughout. Interesting range of films. Disabled toilet is good, parking is tight, and Audio Description headsets are a bit unreliable. Screens good, seats ok, toilets clean. But the staff are what makes this cinema, the relaxed welcoming vibe is because of them. It’s a really nice place to be.
