I wanted to repair a drop-leaf pine kitchen table that had broken spindles, but the table sat gathering dust in the garage for nearly 12 months.Over that time I had contacted quite a few bespoke wood turning companies without success, until I finally had a positive reply from Richard of 'The Turner's Workshop'.The spindles I purchased matched the originals perfectly.Richard was prepared to stain the spindles, but I needed to this myself as I had to re-stain the table top.I sent a photograph of one of the broken spindles to Richard and he recommended a couple of stains.I chose one of these and once stained they were a perfect match to the table.I cannot thank Richard enough, he is a top craftsman and I can recommend him without hesitation.Thank you.

Can’t thank Richard Findley from The Turner’s Workshop enough for making a beautiful handmade wooden pattress to compliment an existing one in my home. Richard took all the relevant details including measurements to get the requirements spot on. You just can’t buy these parts anymore as they’re around 100 years old and even salvage yards may not have them. True skill and craftsmanship show hand turners such as Richard can literally turn their hand to anything including bespoke one off pieces like a stair pattress. Also really appreciated the time given in providing me advice over the phone on how to go about staining / oiling the banister rail and choosing the right stain colour by arranging a couple of mini stain samples to be posted over to me. Would recommend Richard/The Turner’s Workshop to anyone who needs that one off unique hand made piece using quality materials.

I had a small job to make a replacement part for an antique stool, tried a few others without success, and finally Richard at the Turners Workshop was recommended. If you want an expert, then you've found the right place. I sent a piece of broken timber, and what I got back was a finished piece that looks and indeed is, perfection. A pleasure to deal with at every stage, and the finished product is unbelievable. Don't go elsewhere, you'll be disappointed!

I asked Richard to make a lid for me out of oak material in accordance with my own drawing.The result was fantastic. The lid is of the highest standard and I am extremely pleased with it. Richard himself is a great and highly skilled person and provided an excellent service with good communication. I strongly recommend his services.

The care and attention to detail that Richard at The Turners Workshop gave our projects in helping restore our Georgian House was first class. It’s so refreshing that in a time when mass production is more important than quality, craftsman like Richard still exist. Amazing.

Simply fantastic! I contacted several companies in the hope of getting a bespoke music desk made for my grand piano. I knew it was a very unusual job and wasn't surprised I couldn't find anyone but then, thank God, I happened to find Richard who was more than happy to help me.
