Black Mountain

A good walk to get the heart pumping but totally worth it when you get to the top and see those views of our beautiful city.

Lovely spot for a we walk around the top of black mountain, small car park at the entrance, with a concrete walk way leading up to BBC mast aerial and further, small cafe sells tea ,coffee, juice, water , but remember, don't forget some wet gear just in case .

What a walk with a beautiful view. Went in a eet and windy day and tell you what blew the cobwebs off. Different walks with different levels. Highly recommend esp with dogs and kids.

I am a regular visitor to Black Mountain. I love spaces that I can let my dog off lead, although, there are areas where a leash is required, as livestock are grazing nearby.

What a brilliant place for a walk and so close to the City. Black Mountain has 2 car parks, one near the coffee shop, it is up a very narrow road. The other is about 400 metres before there. The locals love to walk in the area so it can get very busy and the available parking fills up quickly. There are various levels and distances of walks. We had a map that can be obtained from the little shop. The ridge walk is about a 8km round trip and gives you fantastic views over Belfast, Belfast Lough, Mourne Mountains, Lough Neagh. One of Belfast's hidden treasures.

Nice place for a peaceful walk. If you are traveling from Belfast, you can take the bus from queens street in the city. Bus ride will take around half an hour. Throughout the whole mountain you cannot see big trees or a forest. Its only grass and few ground plants. You can see the a nice view of Belfast city from the top of the mountain. In some places it is very windy and you can see wind power generation plants around the mountain. There are several foot paths you can follow. A place worth to visit
