If the train gets cancelled they take months to give your money back. It happened to me in July 8th, we are in September and yet nothing. I've already talked to customer support and no solution.

Not helpful to request a refund due to a delay/cancelled train when trainline archived all of your ticket barcode and you have no evidence to upload.Unable to figure out who come up with the idea of making peoples ticket barcode inaccessible at all so there’s nothing they can do when the train is delayed or canceled

Logged on to change a ticket as had failed to notice a 90 minute bus replacement service as last leg of my original journey. It all worked out in the end, but process is a NIGHTMARE to use. One day, the site offers the opportunity to change outgoing but not return journey. Next day it doesn't and you are forced to change both. No idea how much of a refund I would receive until the final screen confirming the changes.

I recently travelled from London to Edinburgh (return) with my daughter, and booked the tickets via Trainline. We had to change the return journey time, which required buying new tickets (fair enough, it's in the T&C's). I sent the unused tickets (6 items in total) back to a PO Box address in Edinburgh, using registered mail. I subsequently received an e-mail from what I can only assume is an overseas help centre with photocopies of only 2 items, telling me that I would only be refunded for one of the unused journeys. I've asked multiple times for photocopies of all 6 items, as I'm absolutely certain a mistake has been made by whoever processed my refund request initially. Funnily enough, it seems as though that's not possible. I presume everything's been thrown away, which now leaves me in limbo, with no one to speak with who has any first-hand knowledge of my request, and £87 out of pocket. Hopeless. I will absolutely not use this service again, and will buy directly from the train operating companies in the future.

Avoid buying tickets from this company. Trainline sells tickets on behalf of train operator companies, so it’s a middle man! Everyone can get their tickets directly from train companies(e.g., Southern, Thameslink, Grand Central etc), with better or similar prices and way better customer service. Trainline offers you loads of features but you, as a service user, would never benefit from them. They just sell you tickets for their own profit and their customer service is terrible.

Expensive tickets with cancelled services and no update from train line app. Quicker, cheaper and easier next time to drive from York to London and back. Why would anyone use public transport if they have an alternative. More expensive and less reliable and the train line app was useless if there is an issue

Appear to be a cheap place to get rail tickets. However, they book you on trains that get cancelled (kings cross to york) and then you have to rebook without any compensation on a very expensive alternative. I cannot recommend.

I made a clerical error while booking a ticket. Now they are telling me it's non refundable. Absolute crooks, stay away from this terrible company.

Keep trying to get a refund for a train ticket to Brighton on 13 May. Unable to use because of strike. No acknowledgements to my emails. Tel.no.given for head office does not work. I have used them many times in the past but will no longer do so.

I am writing to complain about the Gamesbox advert which appeared on the screen for reopening my account; done so as I needed to refresh the account with a change of e mail address. At the time, I did not appreciate this was an advert for a games subscription and entered the my credit card details thinking this was part of your verification requirements. to verify my credit card. This happened as the request had no reference to Gamesbox. In fact the details where below the advert and not clear to be viewed unless you scrolled down which is not a normal custom on the trainline app.As a result of this error, I have now subscribed to the games box subscription. The introduction cost for this is $1, not the end of the world but it rises to $39 after a month introduction.I obviously have tried to cancel the subscription however the cancel subscription link dose not work, there e mail address likewise and the log in also do not work.I have used the Trainline app since its inception and never had any cause to complain. I would suggest if Trainline are going to seek advertising they should ensure such content is bonified and also allow customers to opt out of such options. I am sure I speak for many that I use and value the app to buy tickets and don’t wish to be sneered in these sorts of scams.I have raised the situation for your consideration and with the hope it would save others the loss and the inconvenience caused, cancelling credit cards etc.Lastly, these days people are accustomed to corresponding by e mail, may I suggest this should be listed on your web site, unless of course I am mistaken.
