Such a wonderful experience to share a few hours with a team of volunteers who are quite obviously passionate about their museum and it's history. They tell real life stories of our heroic pilots along with the Polish squadrons who were based at the same operational base flying night time fighter sorties out of Blackpool.Fascinating and interesting made all the more marvellous by the enthusiastic team of people here.

I enjoyed an engrossing two and a half hours discovering the role Blackpool played as part of the UK air defence during WW2.

Excellent place if you're into history! Especially the war. Also the volunteers are extremely knowledgeable and super polite and helpful. I will be going again

An excellent privately run museum. Showcasing the history of the RAF base that was situated here during WW2. With replica fighters as well as working RAF vehicles from the time. Some staff dressed in uniforms of the time. All staff knowledgeable, friendly & approachable. Simulator also in use.

An exhilarating experience and ideal to visit come rain or shine!We already have a massive amount of respect for the people that fought for us in the world wars - but this exhibition REALLY brought it home to us!This venue should be on every school trip and every travellers itinerary! It was both informative and moving.Hats off to the volunteers who run the show.*Returned at 6pm for the spitfire simulator !!! A HIDDEN GEM!What an experience an ideal present for that hard to buy for relation.A full size working (but grounded) spitfire with functioning controls.... you fly over the lake district. The gentleman who runs this is fantastic. I even got a call up letter!I will be back!

What an amazing find staffed by volunteers who are friendly engaging and full of knowledge, definitely will visit again.

Lovely, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, informative, friendly volunteer staff. Very welcoming, they enjoy imparting their knowledge to the visitors.

Amazing place to go and spend some time. The volunteers are all incredible, they really know their stuff and are really friendly and genuinely love their roles. We spent a good 3.5 hours here and still didn't get to see everything (or even visit the Naafi which we are gutted about, looked like good cake and tea! next time!)We spoke to several people while we were out and about in Blackpool for the remainder of our hols and most had never heard of this place. It's a hidden gem but one that is an absolute must! Even if you're not the biggest plane fan (I'm not), it's still incredible to walk around, see the planes up close, hear about how they were used, see the size of the bullets and shells and all the memorabilia). Absolutely well worth the £7 entrance fee.10/10 - will def go again!
