Hadn’t been in the Bell for a few years recently and not too much has changed. Still a lovely setting for a drink and great service. Only thing I disliked was the lighting in the bay- a combination of a couple of multi fixture frame sets that would look more suitable in a drama studio, and some chandeliers hanging infront of the bar. Just don’t look right in the surroundings but that’s just my thought. Loved visiting and look forward to going back again in the near future

We stayed here for one night to break up a journey up north and what a treat it was. Lovely cosy room in a beautiful building. The goodies in the room were top notch and breakfast was delicious.Service was great too. We were late for our dinner reservation as we were held up in traffic but the team held our table for us so we were able to have some very tasty fish and chips in the courtyard garden when we got there.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The rooms are lovely, very tasteful and with nice complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. The staff were all very nice and polite. The breakfast was excellent.Unfortunately they had a wedding on and you could really hear the music until late into the night, having the wedding on also meant that we waited almost an hour for our breakfast as the wedding party all ate together. The waitress was very apologetic and I totally appreciated that it was not her fault. We also couldn’t park in the car park and had to walk 5 minutes with all of our bags (again, probably due to the wedding). It was a lovely hotel but I’d definitely think twice about staying on a weekend.

I had my Wedding Reception at The Bell. The advice, help, support, preparation, arranging and delivery on the day was excellent. The entire staff were also excellent and nothing was too much trouble. They went the extra mile whenefer they could, even helping us load the cars up the day after. I can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you

Gorgeous place, in a lovely area, not a great choice for vegans and although it wasn't busy service was horrific. We ordered via the app in the end as we didn't want to be there all day. Less options on the app so couldn't order what we wanted, but after 10 miles plus walking we fancied something. Food was ok when it arrived, friends burger looked and she said tasted good. Mine was so so, with soft crisps that were really gross, but couldn't be bothered to wait hours for them to rectify. Will try again another day and hope it is better.

Our only regret: We didn't get to stay longer to enjoy this amazing Inn. Our check in was a breeze and the sweet lady that checked us in was such a pleasure to talk to. The room we had was beautiful. Just the sheer historic feeling of this place was an experience all in itself and definitely one of the highlights of our visit to the UK, definitely the finest lodging we stayed at.

Visited here on Sunday for lunch. My daughter is getting married here next year and I can't say enough about how fabulous it is. The building is beautiful and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The food was delicious and plentiful and the menu was seasonal. Guve this place a try, it is well worth it.

Went for lunch. Too busy resulting in slow service. Food pricey for what you get. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful. Warm pear and almond tart recommended.

I stayed here in July for utilitarian purposes relating to where I was coming from and where I was going. I wish I had made this wonderful place more of a destination. I had the little two-storey suite on the corner, which was spacious and comfortable. The courtyard of the hotel and the restaurant and pub areas were beautiful and historic, and the way these are integrated into the modern improvements is exemplary. Breakfast was in an ancient and charming part of the hotel and was truly thoughtful and delicious. Staff was welcoming and kind. An unexpected gem to have come across, my favorite out of the 10 or so places I stayed across England.
