South Yorkshire Terrapin & Tortoise Rescue

We recently rehomed our two turtles with these lovely people and have no doubts they will now have a much better life than we could give them. We were welcomed in to look at the animals and it’s obvious to see how dedicated they are and how much care they give.

Both husband and wife are an absolute pleasure to meet. This charity is amazing and we know our turtle will be well looked after. Thankyou so much

I reluctantly came to the decision to re home my terrapin after 12 years, I spent a long while trying to find the right home for her which is when I came across South Yorkshire Terrapin and Tortoise rescue. The absolute care and dedication to the animals they rescue is second to none! They give their absolute heart and soul into making sure the animals have the best care and facilities. We were shown around and also shown where my terrapin would be living, I was gutted to have to give her up but seeing the life she will be living is a comfort, I could never have provided that scale of set up and she will be living with many others which is amazing! The owner we met on arrival is so lovely and full of so much knowledge, also I love that there’s live cams to have a little look see!! Honestly, if anyone is thinking of making a donation to anyone over the Christmas period, or any time for that matter, please consider these guys! The care they provide for the amount of animals is outstanding and I’ll be forever grateful to them for giving my terrapin the life she deserves!

Very pleased with where I re-homed my family terrapins. They have fantastic facilities and expert knowledge about animals. I have no doubt they will have the best life. Thank you for being very prompt and friendly.

Ftrescue have had all 3 of my turtles now. I would definitely not want them to have gone absolutely anywhere else. Fantastic couple who really know their stuff. The set up these guys are running is fantastic and their care for each and every animal in their care is immense. I love how they have live cameras on their website so you can always have a look and see if you can spot your animal!These guys are so friendly can not recommend this place enough.Well done guys.

Heartbroken to have to give up our two turtles, but glad we found this place for their new home as these couple know what they're doing, their love and passion for every animals within their care are amazing!

You can see the hard work and dedication that goes into running the rescue and how passionate they are that every animal there ends up in an excellent home. They were very open and friendly and we even got to have a look around in the garden and see the terrapins, tortoises and Hedwig the owl. I have no doubt that my corn snake will be very well looked after. 100% would recommend!

I recently contacted South Yorkshire Fish & Terrapin Rescue due to some fish welfare concerns I had. They were happy to provide advice & information & to help/assist. Since our initial contact I have regularly been in touch with them. They are very knowledgeable and are frequently sharing information with me or answering my many questions quickly. Would definitely recommend.
