Can't even be bothered to let the victim of a racially aggravated crime know the reason the trial was cancelled (the accused failed to attend at the Intermediate Diet so a warrant was issued for his arrest). All they did was cancel the victim's witness citation without explanation. He phoned to ask what was happening and the young man who answered the phone at the PF's office refused to give any details even though the warrant was issued in a public courtroom so is public knowledge. Luckily the Sheriff Clerks were helpful. Shameful behaviour. No wonder people don't report crimes or want to attend court when they are treated with the same level of contempt shown to them by the person who abused them in the first place.

Preferential treatment for the rich and powerful. Rough justice for the poor and powerless.

It shows how bad the Crown takes drug use when I walked past the main entrance with a woman in her 50s sitting on the small wall outside was puffing a huge joint of cannabis.Place was stinking of dope and not a soul interested.Welcome to the screwed up country Scotland has became.

Disgraceful experience. Crown office supported witnesses who lied, failed to turn up three times leading them to be cited and when they failed to attend the case was dismissed without being heard. Case took over a year to be “thrown” out at a cost of 8k plus as my husband wasn’t entitled to legal aid. Never will we visit Scotland again. A disgrace to your beautiful country.

In regard to the charging of the man heckling Duke of York. Why were the 2 men who dragged him to the ground not charged with assault?
