Sledmere Farm Shop & Cafe

Visited here for tea and cakes . Although it is a really lovely venue I have to say I would not recommend . We had the carrot cake and the coffee cake and both were poor . The coffee cake was a new cake but it tasted very dry and no taste of coffee . The butter cream was hard and tasteless (straight out of the fridge I would say )About a week old and definitely over cooked and needs more liquid in recipe . The carrot cake was marginally better but in both instances poor baking . I thought very over priced too . There was little choice and we arrived at 2pm when there should have been . Needs improvement .

The food here was overpriced and of very poor quality.We ordered quiche which was cut into a narrow slither of approximately two mouthfuls. There were a handful of chips to accompany it and a salad which still contained traces of soil where it hadn't been washed properly, this cost nearly £9.95, we weren't impressed!The children's meal was equally as poor, with a small soggy pizza ( It looked very much like the budget pizzas you'd find for under 60p in a supermarket) This was served whole and unsliced and looked as though it had just been thrown on top of the few chips and peas on the plate. This cost £6.95.We were very disappointed with lunch here and shall not be returning.

Excellent delicatessen, food ,bread and everything you could want for a picnic, the cafe is very good,very friendly staff all round wonderful place to visit.

Had a lovely morning having coffee and cake in the cafe! It’s spacious and well decorated! They have a great menu with a specials board. We will have to return to have lunch here as we’d already made plans to go elsewhere! The Pantry and Farm shop was great and brought some treats to take home!!

Nice place but like many cafes they leave the breakfast menu on the table instead of taking it off at lunch time. You queue only to be told we don't do scrambled or poached eggs after breakfast. When all you want is a light meal and unless you read the smallest print you assume they are available. Dissappointing. Otherwise acceptable.

Great place, lots of different choices in farm shop and bakery, the cafe food is excellent.

Very good. Food was fresh, service was good, prices were reasonable. Busy place, very popular.

Always a pleasure to stop by. A great half way stop between my hospital appointments in Castle Hill and Scarborough. Great farm shop, gift shop and nursery across the street.

Pleasant atmosphere in restaurant,bacon and sausage roll very good quality,friendly staff.costs a bit more than some places.Christmas barn is excellent, someone worked very hard putting that together.
