Went to a wine and cheese tasting in Manchester on Friday night - loved it! Really good evening: John really knows his stuff. All that knowledge makes the wine taste even better. It's not a lecture, John chats through the wine you're about to try and then leaves you to discover and chat about each one. Lovely people on our table too - made for a great night out. Definitely do this!

Took the level 3 course here and the experience was superb....the choice of wines, the layout of the course we're excellent value for the money...and you get to keep the glasses! The teacher Paul worked very hard in behalf of students both in class and also in between classes by supplying practise questions. He is an excellent teacher, very engaging and helps break down complex and sometimes dense material in an understandable way. I would definitely recommend this wine school for any level you wish to study

So our host Jack was great, tbh i would have liked more wine. What we had was OK but it was as a taste only - that said I would recommend as a great activity for a group to kick start a night out. Thanks to Jack I learned lots of useful tips and had a great time.

I booked a private event through John with Northern Wine School and it was an excellent choice. John was great at helping to put together a bespoke event for 18, even able to accommodate changes at short notice.Everyone came away enjoying the event, from people doing a wine tasting for the first time to the wine snobs amongst us.

JACK was great and explained the complexities of the wine really well. JACK also paired the wine with some great cheeses, JACK also was a great host and made the night very lighthearted and enjoyable. This is my second course with Northern Wine School and on both occasions I have been very impressed. John is extremely knowledgeable and teaches the course in a very relaxed and approachable manner to allow you to absorb what at times is very heavy, in depth information. Over the 6 week course John expertly guided us through and made sure we were as well positioned as possible to take and pass the exams at the end by providing additional information for our own private study. I can't recommend John and The Northern Wine School for WSET Levels 2 & 3 enough. Thank you

Thank you to John, Paul and the team for facilitating and hosting two wonderful evenings of wine tasting. Nothing was too much trouble to set us up for a great night. The tasting was informative, fun and very relaxed. Having experienced two tastings, I can say both John and Paul are brilliant hosts who are extremely knowledgable and were able to make the evening accessible and very enjoyable. The wine and cheese pairings were delicious and will be regulars on our shopping list from now on.
