Skelmanthorpe Textile Heritage Centre

A really interesting place, full to the brim with historic artifacts, a chance to see an authentic weavers loom in action and hear about life at that time!

Small but packed with local history. Good for a 30 minute visit with loom weaving demonstration

Super place. Open as part of the Heritage open days. Very interesting.

Really interesting museum set in the original weavers cottage circa 1920. Living quarters downstairs and working loom upstairs. The volunteers talked about the life of the weaver's family. There are a lot of artefacts to look at and talk about. And the loom, that is something else. The visit takes an hour and is by appointment as they are only open certain times. It is a must see.
