London Road Car Park

Occasionally full. It's not a huge space but handy for access through to the orthodontist. Used Pay by Phone app to pay but other ways to pay too!

Parked here yesterday evening 22 October. It was dark by then. It was a disaster. Being a Sunday plenty of spaces and seemed OK as central. However. The car Park is not illuminated and the pay machine is similarly not lit. Using my phone light attempted to pay with cash but the machine would not accept. No worries, Card then - nope, that would not work either. So another app required on my phone, I guess. Downloaded OK but not easy in the dark juggling phone and wallet. The app needed to access my account via my card, of course, with a photograph no less! Even harder to achieve in the dark. Along the way I managed to misplace my bank card in the dark (found, phew). All in all a rubbish experience and we ended up being late for our table at the restaurant. THIS CAR PARK NEEDS SOME LIGHT IF ONLY OVER THE PAYMENT MACHINE!

Paying machine didn't work. Paying online costs extra, which doesnt make sense. It should be less not more

Good car park we used on the Sunday to go to see St Albans Cathedral and the park nearby. Sunday parking is £1 for All day. It’s quite close to the High Street and the plenty of parking spaces.

Large open air car park, located close to Central St Albans. Pay and display with EV charging. Note: used to be free after 6.30pm weekdays, but this does not start until 10pm now, so beware.

So expensive. St Albans city council are trying their hardest to stop people shopping in St Albans. £3.60 for one hour !!!!! RIP off St Albans.

We always use this car park when visiting St Albans. It is very convenient and it's not usually difficult to find a parking space there. If you are going to the cathedral, it is ideal as there is a cut through the back roads, under the pub and then across the main road.
