John has a long history of Muay Thai and was once the British champion. He transfers his knowledge very well to his students in a friendly and calm manner making it easy to learn and make progress. There’s absolutely no obligation to progress to sparring or contact of any form, so you can just become super fit and flexible or embrace the Muay Thai tradition and take part in events. Amazing gym with great instructors! Started here on a beginner course and John is brilliant in his methods. Its easy to feel nervous starting somewhere like this but everyone is very welcoming and friendly whilst also being very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Wouldn’t even give this place a 1 star , the fact this gym begs for Reviews says it all! My son has been coming to this gym over a period of 4 years and has NEVER been put in for an inter club but new kids have been put in on behalf of John steele the managing director he favourites children based on their parents yet people who have been loyal to the gym since day one have never come away with any improvement or even put into inter clubs and has never been posted and has been left out and treated very cruel and has even been stopped from attending on multiple occasions extremely unprofessional my 9 year old son has been put to tears many times by John steele and he is extremely unprofessional as he has acted inappropriate with most of the children’s mothers I would not recommend this gym! Also their is parents in the gym slapping their children and being violent infront of other kids this is very concerning considering other children are watching this and the fact John steele allows this to happen is very unprofessional and it is child abuse! And it needs reporting!

Absolutely amazing gym! Great coach knows his stuff! Great set of lads can't say a bad word about anything to do with this place! Glad I joined!

If you want Muay Thai in Staffordshire, then it has to be here with Kru John .... First time I met and trained with him he was opposite the old Place Nightclub in Hanley....many years have passed but he's still the best and always will be....there is no imitation for his knowledge and teaching.

Fantastic gym, John is a brilliant coach for adults and kids, if you just want to exercise and hit the pads with John or live the dream and learn the art of fighting then stoke Thai boxing is a old school gym and the best place to learn, highly recommend

John is a meticulous teacher and caters for all ages and abilities. As a martial artist myself and hace done done cross style training with john i can whole heart say that he will habe your best intentions at heart and you wont regret training with him.
