Visited shop Tuesday 12 September.Very good and friendly service. Good selection of new and second hand stock. Was nice to have somewhere for the wife to sit down while I was browsing.

I was really impressed with CMR on my visit today to try and get one of my troublesome locos repaired at a reasonable rate. After I turned up 20 minutes before closing with my 2 year old in tow to try get a valuation on a bag of trade ins. Alan was honest about the valuation given and kindly kept the shop open an extra 40 minutes to allow me to browse both the new and pre-owned rooms where I made a purchase from both as they are well stocked.Hopefully I will allow myself enough time on my return to browse the rest of the stock!

Absolutely superb shop. If your into model railways this is the shop to visit. Alison and Alan are amazing. There both really friendly and so knowledgeable. My son who is only 5 looks forward to our visits and so do I. The two second hand locomotives we have purchased have where very well priced and are in mint condition. Both have run trouble free . The windmill we bought also looks fab.I'd like to say thanks.

Excellent selection of stock and very helpful owners. I went with my 2 boys, not really knowing what we were after. Alan and Alison were extremely helpful, pointing us in the right direction and giving us loads of helpful advice. Will absolutely use again.

This is the first Google review I have written and I couldn't be happier about writing it. Allan & Alison are the dream team. Super helpful, super knowledgeable and very kind. They were very generous and upon request opened the shop on their day off to help me fulfill a birthday gesture. Not only were they there early before us they were incredibly gracious and caring. This is why bricks and mortar shops are super important and should thrive. Thank you both and your two welcoming beagles. We will be back for sure (once we have refilled our bank accounts).

Tucked away in a village, not the obvious place to find a model railway shop. However this well worth seeking out. Run by a very friendly husband and wife. Front of shop is full of new product, move to the second house and it's a room of high quality secondhand stock. I'm from Devon, unless they lift it up and move it I guess I'll just have to travel back to explore again!!

An excellent traditional well-stocked model shop run by a friendly couple (Alan & Alison) whose extensive ranges include scenic items (such as static grass) and construction materials - let alone all the rolling stock on offer.Shop also includes a separate second-hand section (again very well-stocked) with many quality items on offer at reasonable prices.Even the most frugal of browsers will struggle to leave empty-handed!

My goodness, a proper model shop set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. I was told Compass was a good shop but I would say it is a great shop! Packed with stock from all the major model suppliers and out back an Aladdin's Cave of brilliant used items, all perfectly arranged by gauge and supplier making it very easy to browse. On top of this you get a very friendly and knowledgeable service from Alan and Alison. Highly recommended!
