We were lucky enough to just be part of a tour of us two and two others ,so we all sat at the front of the barge with the guide telling the fascinating history and stories of the development and life of the tunnel. This is a lovely place to visit. The cafe by the entrance for coffee before your trip and the boat trips themselves run regularly by very enthusiastic volunteers who know their stuff.Well worth the journey to experience this, parking is tricky, find a spot on the lane above because only disabled and staff are allowed to park in the yard. You can park further away and catch a shuttle boat to the entrance but this is limited to around eight cars or find street parking .All told, the history and engineering of this place is a really interesting part of industrial history. The nearby 'exhibition' was in what looked like mid-change around with info boards leaning on railings and the story told out of sequence, we felt that the building had been re-imagined as a wedding venue upstairs and this seemed to take priority. What could be a large area for visitor parking was being used Purely for guests. That's a shame as the building is a very historic part of the area/experience.

Superb museum about the history of the tunnel in a lovely setting by the canal. We parked in the free car park by the station and took the boat along the canal to the visitor centre. There are some nice walks around the area too, and we had time for a coffee at the cafe before getting the boat back to the car park. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

A wonderful place to come and explore and learn about the history of the tunnel. The visitors centre provides some interesting information as well as a film being played. There’s also a playground with plenty of benches, and also toilets. It’s dog friendly too!

I had the pleasure of providing my dj services at this venue for a second time. The staff are lovely and friendly. A special mention to Bev, who is by far the best wedding coordinator I've come across. It's a fantastic place for a wedding or event.

Very pretty. Unfortunately cafe/restaurant was not open, and no boat rides early in the week. But the views are great and is not too far a walk from the train station carpark. Worth the trip.

Lovely morning spent exploring and learning here. The staff make it special with their enthusiasm and knowledge. My favourite bit was learning about the nasty man who got hit by a train and lots of other fun facts. Highly recommended!
