The Royal Kitchens

We managed to get the very last guided tour of this season. Thanks to the tour guide, it was short but very engaging.

Very messy very dirty and miserable food,worst place the eat in London,definitely inside in the Kew gardens is the worst place to eat.I really don't know why they are allowed to operate there.Very disappointed and very sad.This is for Family Kitchen & Shop

We really enjoyed a brilliant tour around the royal kitchens- highly recommended for people interested in history.

The royal kitchens provided food for Kew Palace, just a short walk away (but sufficient to all all the food to get cold, as a guide reminded us!). The kitchens are presented as a rather spartan environment, though in their day they must have been bustling with activity and heat; far from the cool, tranquil rooms shown today. Guides in period costumes show you round the rooms: a bakehouse, a 'wet' store for meat, a scullery and a room that George III used for bathing, as well as a large kitchen and, upstairs, a couple of rooms for clerks and for the staff to eat.There's a small, attractive walled kitchen garden and, round the back the building, a wheelchair lift that gives access to the lower floor - at present the upper rooms are not accessible by wheelchair. The kitchens are open for around 6 months of the year, roughly April to September.

You are in Aldgate! So many good eating places around. I would avoid this sub-standard food with questionable hygiene and rude staff.
