YoKOYA- New Authentic Omakase Sushi Kaiseki in London
A very unique experience of enjoying Japanesse cuisine. The chef used to do izakaya and just recently changed his concept to kaiseki. As like a normal kaiseki once you had your dessert you can enjoy their authentic Japanesse tea ceremony. All of the food are good. Good selection of sake, you can choose a set of sake to compliment the dishes. Bear in mind it takes time, last time it took 4 hours from start to finish, and you can stay more to enjoy more sake if you want to....

Really decent! The omakase menu provides excellent presentations and good flavour in general. Service was top notch too!The wagyu and the black cod (supposedly the main dishes) were a slight let down tho! I feel like I can get better quality and size from japan centre easily.

It’s really a wonderful lunch experience. First, the foods are soo nice and authentic Japanese sushi. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. The chef is a Japanese who is so dedicated in sushi. Second, the ambience is so cozy. It really feels like those Japanese small restaurants where people chill after work. Not too tidy but clean enough. Excellent surprise for me on the birthday cake. Really highly recommend this restaurant.Online ordering for food and reservation only

Had wonderful dinner (kaiseki 懐石)here at Yokoya in November 2023. Reservation is important.Every course was very zen, warming and tasty. It’s difficult to describe each course as all were good. The swordfish and A5 Wagyu were delicious. It’s very interesting to hear Yoko explaining the history of kaiseki. She also explained each course in detail and the best way to eat them. We also ordered sake which was quite fruity. The menu will change frequently due to seasonal nature or kaiseki dishes. We really had a good chat with Makoto (head chef) and Yoko. They even gave us recommendations s where to eat if we visit Japan! We will definitely be back for more kaiseki. ごちそうさまでした!

Wonderful experience! Unbelievable food and sake pairings complemented with excellent service. Our waitress gave us insight into each dish and the cuisine itself… thoroughly enjoyed and a must go to restaurant in London! You will not be disappointed. Thank you so much!

We chose the YoKOYA for a birthday dinner and had a great time! The YoKOYA is a cozy and comfortable restaurant with friendly staff and unrivaled food quality. The design is simplistic and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come again, when we visit London the next time. They are specialized in whiskey and beverages but our highlight was definitely the food! The tempura were cooked evenly, crispy and tasty, served with a sauce which complement each other in a sweet way.The crispy chicken was tender and soft, still rich in flavor. The lemon amplified it's taste. Equally as good was the salmon, with it's soft texture and juiciness. The mushrooms had a nice beautiful bite to them and great flavor, which kept us wondering about the way they were cooked.Important to note here is the quality of the rice. You can feel the difference in the grain of rice, compared to other restaurants. The quality you get here is excellent. For the desert I chose the homemade Matcha Cake. The firm Matcha layer with it's unique taste was laying on a crispy and crumbly base. The owners were very friendly, professional and put effort into making our stay a pleasant experience.Overall the quality, service and flavors you get here are exceptional.

Best sushi in London by far. The staff were so lovely. The cutlery and crystal glasses are all imported from Japan and are absolutely stunning in detail. I've never tasted such fresh fish in my life! I would definitely recommend the salted black cod, tuna Otoro sashimi, and tuna avocado rolls. I cannot wait to go back!

We went on a quiet midweek evening in May and had the whole place to ourselves. (Which to be honest we didn’t mind ). What this downstairs eatery might have lacked in atmosphere (buzz) it more than made up for in amazing food and attentive (exclusive) service from the owner/hostess/head waitress/bartender who looked after us.She shuffled up and down the stairs with aplomb and returned with beautifully crafted dishes from head chef (Makoto Kuwaki). Behind the bar she knew her sake as well as her Roku, and at the table could tell us where every fish, leaf and flower on the plate came from in her native Japan. It was clear she not only loved this food, she also loved her country. My only regret was that because we were downstairs and chef was upstairs we couldn’t engage more with him. But he paid us a special visit towards the end of the meal to do a mini Japanese tea ceremony for us. The expertly warmed ceremonial grade matcha mixed right in front of us was the perfect end to our 9-course meal.I won’t go into detail on how delicious each dish was, in part because it was nice to have a little surprise with each arrival. But mostly because by the time you read this the seasonal menu will have changed. Just go with someone whose company you enjoy and you won’t be disappointed!

Was the most incredible experience, delicious food and very well looked after, very highly recommended! First time having kaiseki, and each dish was fantastic, hard to pick a favourite, accompanied by really good sake.
