Just completed my Comp Crew with Salty Sailing. It was the most amazing week, Hugo & Katie made the week really educational and informative as well as making the whole time extremely fun. It has made me now want to move onto my Day Skipper, and no doubt I will be coming back here to do it!Would wholeheartedly recommend Salty Sailing to anyone looking at doing any sailing courses.

Did the two day RYA powerboat course, what an experience. Hugo is a brilliant instructor, patient and calm. All aspects of the course were covered with lots of practical experience. I would recommend Salty Sailing for anyone looking for a sailing course..

I have already sailed twice with Salty Sailing - once for my day skipper practical course and now for a weekender refresher cruise, and honestly recommend them as a great company to sail with. The boat is in great condition: clean, modern, well equipped. I honesty can’t remember ever chartering a boat that was so well maintained and a pleasure to sleep on. All other equipment is new, clean and well kept as well.Hugo is a fabulous teacher and I really gained a lot of confidence during the course. He’s patinent, friendly, helpful and really helped us improve our skills. He’s got a vast knowledge and sailing experience and I really appreciated learning the practical skills form him as we practiced manoeuvres or planned our passage.As a regular to IOW I’m pleased to see an independent business grow and do so well. I’d recommend Salty Sailing to anyone who wants to gain sailing qualifications, improve their skills or get into sailing in a friendly and relaxed environment. I will be booking another passage or cruise with them in the coming months.

Had a fantastic day sailing with Salty Sailing. The day was a birthday present from my wife and sons. As novices Hugo (skipper) and Katie (crew) were brilliant as they encouraged us all to take part in rigging the sails and time on the helm. We were picked up in Southampton at Town Quay, sailed down Southampton Water and across to Osbourne Bay on the Isle of Wight where we anchored for a splendid lunch which Katie prepared for us before sailing in the Solent and returning to Southampton. Hugo and Katie are brilliant and no matter what sailing experience you have they make sure you have a good time. Highly recommended!

WHAT A WEEK!!Incredible work from the whole team at Salty Sailing, 2 out of 2 passes for Yachtmaster! Incredible teaching, great food and slept comfortably on board. I felt safe for the entire week and can recommend this school to everyone at any stage of their sailing life!

We had the best time with Salty Sailing. We did a 5 day day-skipper qualification. From the initial enquiry to the course itself, Hugo was brilliant. Great communication and help throughout the booking process, and the course itself was run superbly. Hugo is an excellent teacher, very patient and providing clear explanations, making you feel at ease and ensuring everyone on the boat feels comfortable at all times. Precision (the yacht) is very well kept, clean and has everything you need. Food provided on board was great (always important!). Highly recommend Salty Sailing to anyone, novices to experienced sailors.

Had a great week with Hugo at Salty Sailing doing my day skippers course. Even with rough and windy conditions Hugo helped us learn and refine skills to safely and confidently skipper a sailing yacht. Hugo’s style was brilliant for us to learn, he was relaxed and was incredibly informative in a manner that allowed practical application of the theory. I’m really looking forward to going back to Salty Sailing to do me Power Boat Level 2 and hopefully my Yacht Master in the future. Thanks again for a great week.

Had a fantastic five days with Salty Sailing in and around the Solent over October school half term. Really appreciated Hugo tailoring everything around our needs - two adults doing day skipper and two children doing competent crew. Hugo couldn’t have been more accommodating during the booking process, flexing dates to fit us and even agreeing to our final night on the boat being in a particular harbour to meet a specific need. He was really easy to get along with - his enthusiasm and knowledge was evident throughout. The Salty Sailing philosophy of training being much more than a tick box exercise really came across - would heartily recommend them to anyone.
