What a wonderful teaching method. Jo's calm natural horsemanship method has allowed me and my young shire horse to go from a complete beginner, to being under saddle, to now rudden showing, always something new to learn. Jo has a style of teaching that not only shows you the how too, but the reasoning behind the why it happens, whether it be the biomechanics of the horse or my positioning. I have been having lessons since my horse was 2 and we never stop learning.

I initially reached out to Jo as my mare had been going through rehabilitationand I needed some help bringing her back into work as well as with the groundwork as she had become a bit tricky as a result of her past.Jo introduced both of us to various groundwork exercises and identified areas that my mare was struggling with; in particular, her balance and anxiety which caused her to be quite tense.We also worked on me as a rider, and my position and ways that I could help her feel more supple and improve her way of going.6 months on and I feel as though I have a completely different horse! Through the various exercises, we have helped to build up her muscle and she feels so much more supple and balanced, as well as her feeling much more happy in her work. I have also had various people comment about the difference which has been lovely to hear.I would highly recommend Jo to anyone who is looking for help with their horse and I’m already looking forward to our next lesson!

I'm a long time owner of an opinionated Section D who hasn't had a lot of experience going out to places but has always loaded fine in the past. I now have access to a lorry and he has got more and more resistant when loading, to the point that it was getting dangerous. I tried on my own with various methods, controller headcollars, rentamob, bridle on/bridle off, but the more I tried the worse he got. Jo was the first person I thought of and gave her a call. She came, did some groundwork, gave me some great advice re the lorry set up, within 90 minutes he was loading himself. I just did not expect this kind of success in such a short time! I have since loaded him on my own quite a few times and last weekend we went out and he was a dream, went on at the yard and to come home, in a headcollar, no fuss. I couldn't recommend Jo enough, she is kind, calm, effective and affordable. I will definitely have her out again if I need her.

Jo works really well my young horse and myself. We have initially done in-hand work and she is helping me with my confidence. She is about to start schooling my horse. I am so pleased with the progress we have made in such a short amount of time. I would definitely recommend Jo.

I contacted Jo to help me with my confidence with groundwork, I have a young horse & needed help with my horsemanship skills, not because I was having problems with my boy,, but I want to be the best I can be for him.Jo immediately identified my anxiety & lack of confidence & we worked on me first... it took one lesson.Thereafter, each lesson we don't have set plans or expectations we go with the flow. This session helped me concentrate on me for an hour.We've been with Jo over 6 months now & I can honestly say my confidence is the best it's ever been. Jo is giving me lessons on groundwork and ridden work. Joanne is polite, friendly and has a cracking sense of humour! My daughters pony has been like a totally different pony altogether since working with Jo even after our first session together. A lot of the problems have been down to my approach or just lack of knowledge, but not once have I been made to feel silly or incapable and have been treated with a very professional manor. Lessons have been made enjoyable for both myself and our pony and I can’t thank Jo enough for all her help and teaching so far

Joanne is helping with handling of my 8 months foal Matilda. She is kind, clear in her instruction and gives great homework. It is a joy to work with her.
