I remember, as a boy, taking boxes of misshaped veggies from my mum’s work and feeding them to Oink. Very happy memories of a very happy Water Buffalo.

It fills me with unparalleled joy to see Oink’s field finally get added to this maps platform. Oink was special. He was the most personable and friendly water buffalo I ever encountered. I remember the moment I learned that Oink had left for water buffalo heaven. It was a sad day. I lost sleep for weeks. But alas, I rest easier now knowing he’s in a better place and that his legacy has been honoured by recognition on the Map of Google. I thoroughly recommend anyone with a ~35 minute journey of Oink’s field takes a visit to pay homage. Maybe leave some flowers, or even a packet of starburst (those were Oink’s favourite). Sleep easy old pal.

Can’t believe our beloved Oink is recognized on here! This water buffalo filled my heart with joy everytime I visited Derby. With his kind eyes and loving heart he always made me feel welcome! To this day I miss him. May he rest in peace in water buffalo heaven♥️

This field has a special place in my heart. Growing up it was home to Oink, a water buffalo who brought joy to the people of Derby. He was a lovely fellow who would come up to you to say hi, and outside of zoos I don't know anywhere else in the UK that had a water buffalo. Unfortunately he died a while back, but he will always be missed.

Oink was always an absolute rock and it is so wonderful to see this majestic beast honoured. There is no greater pinnacle to make in life than making a pilgrimage to this truly remarkable field.

So glad that Oink's field has finally been recognised on Google maps so that I can pay homage to him more frequently now that he's left for water buffalo heaven. He will be sorely missed. Really looking forward to visiting Derby again soon so I can add some quality pictures of Oink's field to this review.
