You can always get a wonderful meal at your carvery. This year was the same as last year, good service, good food and very festive. 24 of us joined you this year a few more than last year. That shows you are doing something right!

We were left waiting a fair while at the reception, staff ignored us, no acknowledgement given to us.. not really a positive experienceCarvery ran low on meat and the pork was unavailable when I asked, no gravy left, had to ask a staff member to get us some, we had to ask for our drinks as we had nearly finished our meal and they had not arrived, so our visit was disappointingOn a positive note the meat was cooked nicely and good we chose was tasty

This is the review for breakfast, Afternoon and evening might differ. I always find long queues to wait to prepay, they could do with more front of house staff and card machines. Chairs are a bit dated, that is an under statement, they are so old and worn out. When you queue for food it's so long that by the time you return to the table your fresh coffee is now ice cold. The reason for this queue is they take forever to get plates and some food out, (usually eggs). But you do get unlimited coffee and food. The food is always tasty but they do like to put bacon in everything! If you are a bacon fan that's perfect but if you are vegetarian or dislike bacon then it's not ideal. Would say this place is not suitable for vegans due to lack of choice and cross contamination as it is self service so people don't care what utensils they use to pick up food with.If you are not in a rush, and want a cheap and tasty breakfast then this place is ideal.

A classic Tobys experience, even given that it was bank holiday Monday. Staff were really helpful in accommodating our odd requests and the food was quick. Would recommend booking beforehand.

Have had collections many times in the past and always been happy but not this time . We purchased meals for 2 and when it came the meals were fine and hot but the one bag with potatoes in was stone cold and only 4 potatoes and 1 Yorkshire , when I sent in complaint I was told thank you we will pass this onto the kitchen. Not very good customer service when we had spent over £40 on 2 roast dinners .

Chef is rude .. ask for fat and skin he gave me less meat ..ask for 3 yorkies as they was flat and small said no 2 max per person brang gamman out and didnt looke cooked potatoes and swede was hard swede lumpy gravy was like water lucky i was taking it as takeaway so made gravy at homeVery bad from toby carvey hilsea today makes u not wanna go

The service from our table waiting staff was excellent, I was in a group of more than twenty and the pub was busy, nonetheless all our drinks and food orders were taken promptly and we then had a great time.The Salmon Wellington is very good, great pastry and full of salmon and prawns in a very tasty sauce, much better than I expected it to be.

During our visit we overheard numerous complaints about how dirty the plates were. The bacon was white, hash browns were soggy and one of our party found shell in her egg. The only good bit was the Santa part and considering it was meant to be ‘breakfast with Santa’ we were sat on the complete opposite side of the restaurant and the kids were only able to see Santa once we’d got in the queue. I would also suggest that when giving out presents for kids it would be well worth wrapping them as that is half the fun for kids when meeting Santa!

Lady who shows you to table very rude. One member of bar staff. Took 15 minutes to get served whilst she was busy doing drink for the restaurant. Food ok and plentiful. Chap on carvery run off feet trying to carve meat and replenish ship everything. Another member of kitchen staff just kept appearing and then walking away without helping. Queued for 15 minutes for carvery, and only 8 of us in queue. We ordered two kids meals. Considering we then waited 15 minutes at carvery, we still finished our meals before the kids meals come out. Tried to speak to barmaid but she was just plain rude. It just feels the attitude of the staff stinks. Really give the feeling they don’t want to do anything for you. Various Toby carveries have always been good, but I’m afraid we won’t ever be coming back to this one.
