Everything you'd expect from a PC world store, over priced accessories and some outdated hardware.Staff seem quite friendly, there's not many laptops to look at but there are plenty of speakers and headphones to try.

Staff are friendly, with good managers specials, although the pricing can otherwise be higher than can be found online, although I believe that they do price-match other retailers which would be a relief.

Visited shop today at around 12:40pm just want to purchase a simple stand for my Laptop,Staff has chceked the shop stock and was told, Yes we have them in stock but not on display just at the back storage.I ask if I can see one?I wanted to make sure that it will be a good fit for my laptop.Staff Answer was No, sorry we can't do that.I ask why?You can only have a look on the computer screen of what we have.Never ever will I return to Currys PC world In York,Pure Laziness of Unprofessional staff!It was to much of a hard work for them to go at the back storage and bring one small box to customer!

This particular Currys PC World is one of the better examples I've visited as the staff are knowledgeable and approachable without being too pushy. The store has a long, narrow arrangement with a selection of music, camera and computing items for sale. Prices vary and the store doesn't carry the full range of PC World goods as you'll find in the larger ones, but it has a great location in the centre of York.

Yet another PC World. All your electronic needs under one roof! Well not quite.... they never have replacement parts of accessories in stock. The staff are eagre to talk to you to get there commissions but tend to know very little about the products they are flogging. Prices tend to be fairly reasonable so if you do your research first you can get things then and there rather than the next day through Amazon prime.

Good for gadegt shopping. Can explore things before placing order online. It's a collection point for your online orders. You can place your order online and collect it very next day

I had the most abysmal service experience here than any other customer/company situation I've had in my life. I went in for a cosmetic defect repair on my laptop, a small chip on the casing. My computer, HP Envy 1TB, was still under warranty so it was a free service with simple paperwork. I explicitly told them that there was nothing wrong mechanically with the computer and even jokingly spoke with the guy assisting me that they would not even have to turn it on. The simple repair was only a few days. I returned to collect my computer and the service center they sent it to REPLACED MY HARD DRIVE. I lost 900 GB of photos, videos, and documents, as well as Microsoft Office programmes and Adobe Lightroom. I am a professional photographer and rely on my computer for work. I did not give them permission at any point to service my computer's hard drive or to perform any internal trouble shooting. I did not sign giving them permission to do so nor did they call me during the wait time to receive my permission. Their excuse was that I should have presumed if there was something slightly wrong with an internal component of my computer, they would have replaced it. Needless to say I was livid and hostile towards them. They then had the audacity to tell me that it wasn't a big issue and that I needed to calm down, especially as I must have had all my data backed up. This store was only ok before this incident as they are constantly out of stock and wait for items to run out before ordering them rather than proactively keeping their shelves full. Absolutely abysmal management ideology at this store. I feel bad for the associates who work here who are trying to just earn a living and are helpful when they can be.

Found the staff helpful, it did feel like you were getting talked into a more expensive product which does the exact same thing

This curry’s branch (coney street) closed ages ago (before 2018). There isn’t one in the centre of York anymore

Would be a better experience if they'd pay their staff a decent wage I was asked THREE times in five minutes if 'i was ok'. Stop paying commission based wages guys, you're customers will thank you in the long run
