We have stayed at the hotel several times and we are never disappointed. From the location, attention to detail and friendly staff. We would like to give a very big thank you to Laura and Sam who have been exceptional during our stay. They really did make sure we were looked after to the highest of standards. Having an allergy always makes me a little apprehensive, however, I felt they both took it very seriously and in doing so made me relax. Malmaison ... you have two very professional and caring team players on your staff...Thank you, Helen & Dean.

Always stay here when visiting York due to the great location and hotel bar. Rooms can be hit and miss, either a bit too dark or in the case of our most recent visit the vanity mirror wouldn't turn off which lit the room up like Blackpool illuminations at night. Reception did arrange for someone to come and disconnect it though. Sora bar on the top floor is always great for a drink and have decent acts and DJ on at weekend

Lovely hotel in the centre of York.Parking isn’t on site by nearby.Attended for a conference and stayed in a suite, this room was excellent, spacious & well appointed and meant we could still work comfortably from the room either side of the conference. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable with a good choice, as was the room service, where we received our order quickly. The 2nd evening of our stay was spent at the rooftop bar with unrivalled views over York. Although sunny it was rather windy outside but the view was worth it.Enjoyable stay, would recommend.

Attended an innovation event with the University of York, and whilst the event was brilliant and insightful, so was the building or what I saw of it.....We were in room 1 of the work and play area, the staff were brilliant, the decor was just what was needed, and in the future, I look forward to holding my own events here. The only photo I have that I can share was some of the funky wallpaper, so here you go!!

Fabulous location. Lovely staff. Room was designed by somebody who has never stayed in a hotel. At midnight every night our air conditioning went off and some of the lights came on.Management seemed clueless. We were implored to spend more….upgrade room, have a very pricey breakfast etc.But what was never communicated was that the drop off area was closed. This led to driving around 1 way systems and stopping somewhere very expensive. Finally we walked to the hotel. They advised us to park in a multi-storey car park but to add insult to injury didn’t mention that the lifts were broken in that car park. With good management this could be a great hotel but avoid for now.

Great location for the Sky bar. Food and drinks were reasonably price for the establishment.I would return back when I visit York again.I ordered two sushi dishes and they were delicious, I could have eaten more. The cocktails definitely have a kick to them but nothing to over powering.Great views and definitely perfect for girls night or even date night.

I spent one night in York for work. I had not stayed in the Malmaison York before, but I decided to this time as it is only a 5 minute walk from the Railway station and the Railway museum, plus it is within easy walking distance to York Minster and the Shambles. The people on reception where very pleasant and helpfulThe room was very nice with a super king bed, and a large walk in shower.Had my dinner in the restaurant which was very good. There was very little noise from outside. The breakfast was not the best bacon was crispy but if you like it like that then I guess it's okay and the rest was also a little over done to my liking. There was also a continental breakfast options with all of the normal cereals as wellWould I stay here again yes I would

Average among the nice hotel options, I’d say — just more on the modern side. Much more of a spot to be in summer, since their rooftop bar & restaurant has great views. I loved having cocktails on the roof here last year.My experience was probably a little soured by the fact that I was looking forward to a few restful nights here after being jetlagged in London and a snafu with all trains from London being cancelled the day we were supposed to get here, etc. Instead I could hear the vibrating bass music from some sort of party happening downstairs up until 1am all (Monday) night. I mean maybe I’m lame for being in bed before midnight, but I thought hotels were for sleep first.(And that’s all after we paid for the extra night we weren’t even here, but had to get a hotel in London last minute because of cancelled trains and pay for 2 hotels in one night. Not as much as a “sorry for the inconvenience” upon arrival.)Aside from that…The pros- As mentioned, the rooftop.- Modern, bright, spacious rooms.- Great showers (love the option to choose vertical rainfall or regular shower head).- Appreciate the new, LED-lit makeup mirrors and sitting area for makeup. The cons- The beds don’t seem to be all that top-quality. They sag a bit by morning — which is especially painful if you’re a stomach sleeper.- No minibar in the rooms. Not even bottled water.- No robes in the rooms; I know that sounds prissy, but I hate standing there in a constantly-falling towel while blow drying my hair in the middle of winter.- No separate conditioner for hair (just a shampoo and conditioner 2-in-1) — which I know is common in Europe, but plenty of hotels in London now that have both.

Stayed here a few days ago just an overnight stay. My friend and I had a twin room the room was very spacious and the beds super comfortable. Want to say thank you to all the staff they make your stay and all I can say you were fabulous. Our stay included evening meal and breakfast and both were scrumptious. This hotel is very special and worth a visit thank you to all who made our visit feel very special.

I stayed at the Malmaison for 1 night in December. The rooms looked new and were immaculately cleaned. All the usual amenities, some of them were cleverly hidden away, though. Great location close to the train station and a small walk from the city centre. Breakfast was amazing, possibly the best hotel breakfast I've had. It's a great hotel, and I would definitely return for another stay.
