Very warm welcome from the start, very understanding and knowledgeable vet who went out of his way to accommodate long term medication needs. Not cheap but saved a lot by joining their monthly plan . Would recommend.

Brought my cat in a few months ago after he was having trouble urinating, was told he had a blocked urinary tract and needed emergency surgery. Of corse I agreed and filled in all relevant paperwork and gave them my insurance information. We had no doubt the insurance would pay.Whilst my cat was in surgery I was informed the insurance would not pay as it was a pre existing condition we hadn’t disclosed?I was confused as he had never had this before, the vet then explained when he had a URI two years prior that was an early warning sign for this to happen and he should of been on a special diet since then. When he had the UTI we were reassured it was nothing to worry about and very common, we paid the bill for some antibiotics and never thought much about it again. We were never told it could be the start of something serious or about a change to special food or it should be something to disclose to insurance. We were then left with about 3 hours to come up with £1000, we were told they do not offer payment plans. Of corse this was extremely worrying for us as we didn’t have that kind of money during this current cost of lining Crisis . When my husband went and tried to ask about a payment plan he was told if we didn’t pay then and there they would be removing treatment from him (causing him to die) and refused to hand over our cat, they also were very rude and unsympathetic to our situation and just kept saying I had signed agreeing to pay, they also brought another member of staff out from the back to try and intimidate us and was extremely aggressive. We eventually managed to get a loan and we got our pet back. They then sent him home with a catheter but with no bag attached, so urine was all over his carrier (the carrier was a soft material one as-well) leaving our cat sat and soaked in urine. Not so much as a puppy pad to line it. This was extremely distressing to us as it then meant we had to go out trying to buy puppy pads at 8pm to line the dog cage we had been told to buy (also given about an hours notice for that too) all whilst juggling a newborn baby. When my husband took him back the next day to get the catheter removed we saw a different vet and they were apologetic to how we were spoken to and agreed we should of been informed and given correct information about his previous UTI.After this we promptly removed him from this vets and joined another small independent vets. We are thrilled with the service and have since learnt Wirral vets is the most expensive in the area. This vets is also extremely friendly and offers payment plans as they understand that there is a cost of living crisis.I was absolutely disgusted with how we had been treated as we had been a customer of theirs for years, but I would never trust them again and have told many people about what happened, all of whom have been appalled.

Excellent service, extra time is always given to discuss my cat's general wellbeing and alternative medications and treatment. This is always a pleasant surprise as in over 20 years of various veterinary clinics I have never experienced this.
